I was sitting at the kitchen table​, having breakfast with mum when the post arrived.

'I'll get it.' I said, walking into the hallway.
I picked up the letters:
Mrs A. Calvin
Mrs A. Calvin
Miss K Calvin

I pocketed the one addressed to me and gave mum the other two.
'Thanks.' She opened them and read them.
At the same time, I opened mine and read my letter:

Dear Miss Calvin

Congratulations.
You have been accepted a place at Oxford university. We received your application and your college results and hope to see you in September.
The course you have applied for:
Business
With this letter, we have sent a reply form for you to fill in, regarding your place. If you accept, fill in the form and send it to us before 23rd August.

We hope to see you 5th September.

I looked up at mum. She was watching me with an eyebrow raised. 'What's that?'

'It's... It's from Oxford University.' I said automatically. 'I've been accepted.'

Mum stared at me in shock for a full minute.
Then she jumped up, walked around the table and hugged me. 'Oh my God, I can't believe it!' She gushed. 'My baby girl is going to Oxford! I'm so proud of you!'

'Alright, mum, jeez.' I muttered, embarrassed. I took out my phone and texted Nick:

Guess who just got accepted for Oxford university? Xxxx

He instantly replied:

You have got to be fucking kidding me xxxx

I grinned and typed and sent:

No, why? Xxxx

His reply came back quick:

Because I've been accepted there too!!! Omg I cannot believe it, I am so fucking happy right now!!!! 😁😁😁 Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I looked up at mum. 'Nick's been accepted there too!'

She grinned. 'That's fantastic honey. I doubt Joe or Daniel applied.'

'No, they didn't.' I chuckled.

Later on, me, Nick, Joe, Daniel and Natalie were all going to town to celebrate the end of college and me and Nick being accepted for Oxford.
During that, we met up with Harry, the crazy guy Joe, Daniel and Nick had hung out with.
We all decided to hang out on the park which used to be where me, Joe and Daniel had hung out when we first met.

Now look at us, I mused. 3 people had joined our small gang and now there were 6 of us, including me.

'Remember when we first met, and we did that air horn prank?' Harry asked the boys.

Daniel nodded fondly. 'That was awesome.'

'Hey, not forgetting the things we did with Katherine?' Joe added.

'Yeah, before Nick came.' I nodded. 'What was your favourite moment Danny?'

He paused. Then a devilish grin spread across his face. 'That time when we hacked into the school intercom with your help K, and we reprogrammed them to play That's What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction. On repeat for 3 hours straight.'

Harry sat up from laying in the grass and stared at us. 'You guys really did that??!'

Me, Joe and Daniel nodded in unison.

Harry looked amused. 'Remind me to hang out with you guys more often. So, who did the hacking and the reprogramming?'

Joe and Daniel both pointed at me.

He looked impressed. 'Wow, we've got a little Miss Genius here.'

I smiled modestly. 'It's was just some simple stuff I learned in electronics and programming club.'

He looked at me with a gleam of respect in his eyes. 'No wonder you're going to university.'

Nick, noticing this, glared at him and put an arm around my waist. I frowned at him and dug my elbow into his ribs.
'What was your favourite moment Joe?' I asked Joe.

'All the coke bombs.' He chuckled. 'Another one of your genius ideas. All the times we did it, and nobody knew who was behind it.' He shook his head in bemusement.

Natalie smiled. 'I know right. I can't believe that it was you guys all along. We thought it would have been a few of the more rebellious kids higher up.'

'Like Joe said, genius.' Daniel grinned. 'My favourite coke bomb incident was when we put one under Mr Scott, the maths teacher's desk. Apparently it went all over him. Everyone didn't stop talking about it for a whole week.'

I laughed at the memory. 'So what are you two doing now that you've left college?' I asked Joe and Daniel.

'With Danny's help, I've got a job alongside him at the garage.' Joe explained.

I nodded. 'Awesome.'

Later that afternoon, Nick walked me back to my place.

As we got near my house, I saw a shiny silver Volvo outside the house and frowned.
Nick saw my face and stopped. 'What's wrong?'

'I swear, if that's who I think it is...'

He frowned. 'Who?'
