Ella's POV.

Ella Peters was a 25 year old who lived in Metropolis. In her early life she lived in Central City with her mom and dad. She loved it there. She had two best friends Iris West and Barry Allen. She loved them so much. They were inseparable as kids, but one day when Ella was 10 she got some sad news from her mom and dad. Ella's father had been transferred to Metropolis. They were moving. After saying goodbye to Iris and Barry, she left with her parents.

Years passed and one day when she was 16 something terrible happened. Her father died in a terrible car accident. She was crushed. She and her mother were alone. Ella got a job and helped her mother out. But when she was 17 they got sad news that her mother was terminally ill.

After graduating she waited a year, and stayed with her mother in Metropolis until one day, her mother had to be rushed to the hospital and there, she passed away. Months passed and Ella, due to her family's constant persuasion, finally enrolled in Gotham University at age 19.

Now it had been two years since she had graduated college. Ella was now trying to fulfill her dreams of becoming a reporter. At the moment she worked as a photographer for Lois Lane.

"Ella?" A mans voice asked. She turned around to see Clark Kent. "Yes, Clark?" "Where is Lois? I need to talk to her." He asked, "Oh, I believe she is at the copy machine." Ella answered. "Alright, thanks." Clark smiled and left. Ella sighed. There was no way she would get a job here. There were to many people to compete with.

Just then her friend Jimmy came up to her. "Hey, Jimmy." "Hey, Ella. Did you hear the news?" "No. What news?" She questioned. "They're making job cuts. Which means some people will probably..." He answered. She sighed, "Lose their job. Great. Thanks for letting me know Jimmy." "No problem." He replied.

A few minutes later Perry called Ella in. She prepared herself. "Miss Peters. Please, sit down." She sat. "First off let me stray out by saying that your work here has been very appreciated. Your a hard worker and you do a good job. I wish their was another way to say this, but...because of financial issues that the Daily Planet has been having lately...we're going to have to let you go." Ella sighed.

Now there was no way she would ever become a reporter. She nodded solemnly. "I'm really terribly sorry. If there was something else I could do, I would." "I understand sir." She stood up. "I am sorry. You'll be getting your last two weeks pay of course." He replied. She nodded, "Thank you."

She walked out and packed her thing up in a box. She grabbed her camera and walked over to Lois. "Excuse me Lois?" She turned around. "Yes? Oh hey Ella. What's going on?" She asked eyeing the box in her hands. "Umm...I was let go, due to budget cuts." She said. "Oh no! Ella I'm so sorry!" "It's okay. I'll miss it here, but I'll be okay." Ella stated. "I'll miss you too. It just won't be the same." Lois said. "Well...I just wanted to say goodbye before I left and that...it was an honor to be able to work with you." Lois smiled sadly and hugged Ella, "Thank you and it was wonderful working with you too. I hope everything works out for you." "Thanks. Bye."

Just then, as Ella turned around Clark walked up to her. She thought it was slightly odd. He always seemed to show up whenever something was wrong. He looked concerned. It was almost as if he knew what had happened. "What's with the box?...Oh no. Did they...?" "Yeah they did. It was due to budget cuts, but it's okay really. I'll just find another job." "Ella I'm so sorry. What are you going to do?" Ella thought about it. She didn't have any family to go to or really any friends. Honestly she didn't really want to stay in Metropolis. It brought back too many bad memories. What could she do? Where would she go?

"Well...I might go back home." Clark furrowed his eyebrows. "But your home's here." "No. My home's in Central City. When I was young we moved away, because my father got a job here, but honestly my heart never left." Clark nodded and smiled. "Well I hope everything goes well, and I'm very happy to have worked with you." "Thanks Clark. Me too, and good luck to you and Lois." He blushed. "Thanks. I know that one day you'll make a great reporter and if you ever need anything just let me know." "Thanks I will. Bye Clark." They hugged.

Jimmy walked up too. "I heard everything. I'll really miss you Ella." "Me too Jimmy. Thanks for everything." She smiled and hugged him. They released. "Bye Ella." She smiled fondly at her friend. "Bye Jimmy." She began to walk off. Then she turned around. "Oh and by the way. Your one of the best photographers I've ever known." He smiled. "Thanks, Ella. Bye." She smiled and walked away.

As she sat on the subway, on her way to her apartment she began to think of the future. She was going back to Central City. There was nothing left here for her now, but what was in Central City? Barry and Iris had probably gone on with their lives and had probably never thought about her again. Unlike Ella, who had never any friends and always thought of them both. And who knows, they may have even left Central City and gone somewhere else. Ella sighed. She still felt drawn to go there.

A few days passed and Ella had packed up her things and was on a train, on her way to Central City.
