Ella's POV.
It had been two days since the singularity. Ella hadn't seen Barry since then. Honestly she didn't want to. He had been calling her, but Ella couldn't answer. He had broken her. Her best friend, boyfriend and fiancé had lied to her and kept secrets from her. She forgave Barry for what he had done, but she also knew Barry and he wouldn't be able to change. She had thought of just being friends with him, but knew she wouldn't be able to handle it. There was only one option left. Pack up and leave Central City.
Ella went to work the next day and quit her job. Her boss was sad to see her go. "Well, I'm sorry to see you go, Ella. You've been a great addition to CCPN. You'll be hard to replace. We'll miss you." He said. Ella smiled sadly. "I will too, but I feel that this is for the best. You see um. . .there some things in my life right now that I need to work out." She explained.
Her boss nodded in understanding. "I understand. Will you be staying in Central?" He asked. She shook her head. "No. I'm afraid not." "Where will you be going?" He asked. Ella looked down. "I'm not quite sure yet. I have some family back in Coast City. I may go back there." She answered. "Well, Wherever you go, Miss Peters. I wish you the best of luck." He smiled and shook her hand. She smiled kindly. "Thank you." She turned around and began to walk out, but stopped.
"Sir?" He turned around. "Yes?" "I know it will be difficult filling my place, but. . .I have a suggestion." "And what may that be?" He asked. "My very good friend, Iris West. She's been interested in a job here at CCPN. She's a incredible reporter and very hard working. She's got a lot of talent and spunk. I think she'd be great at the job." Ella said. Her boss nodded thoughtfully. "Iris West, huh? She has that blog about the Flash?" Ella nodded.
He thought for a moment. "Tell her to come in and see me tomorrow afternoon for an interview." He smiled. Ella smiled widely. "Thank you, sir. I will." With that she left.
Ella went back to her apartment and sat down. Where would she go? She thought about going to Coast City to be with her aunt, but shook her head. She loved her aunt, but wouldn't be able to handle her match making. Then she thought about going back to Metropolis. What would she do there? She couldn't get a job at the Daily Planet. She had been fired a year ago. Maybe Gotham? No. Too much crime and Star City just seemed a little too close to Barry.
Finally Ella remembered something. Back in Metropolis her friend Clark had talked about his hometown Smallville. She remembered how when Lois would make fun of his home all Emily would be doing would be thinking about how nice it sounded. She and Clark would sit around and talk about his home and his family. It all sounded so peaceful and nice.
Then when she had actually gone there with Clark and Lois and met his mother. She immediately came to love Smallville. She also remembered that his mother had told both Lois and Emily that if they ever came back to Smallville that they would be welcomed to stay with her.
Ella nodded. That's where she would go. She got up and called Clark on the phone. It rang and rang. Finally he answered. "Hello? Emily?" Clark asked in surprise. Emily smiled. "Clark, hi!" "Well what do you know! It is you! How are you? I haven't heard from you in forever!" He asked. "I'm fine, Clark. How's everything in Metropolis?" She asked. "Same old, same old. How's life in Central City." He asked.
"Well, that's kinda what I called you about. . ." "Is everything okay? Did something happen?" Clark asked in concern. "Well, yes something did. It's kinda personal, but I'm leaving Central City." She told him. "Oh Ella, I'm so sorry." "It's fine. Things just didn't work out as I had hoped." "Well, what can I do for you?" He asked. "Well, I was wondering. . . I've decided to move to Smallville, but I don't have a job or any place to stay-" She explained.
