Flashing Back

Barry's POV.

Barry was going back in time to see Thawne. He had to learn how to get faster and this was the only way. Caitlin and Cisco had a plan all ready.

He would go back to the time when they were fighting Hartley. Dr. Wells would be very distracted by it. It would also be the time when the team found out that Dr. Wells had known the Particle Excelerator was going to explode. This would help Barry keep his cover. Dr. Wells would think nothing of Barry's attitude towards him.

Caitlin gave Barry a trank dart to knock the old Barry out for 6 hours, which would give him time to learn whatever he needed and return. Cisco wrote out everything Barry would need to know on the board:

No Ronnie/Stein
No Vibing
No Fazing
No suspicion - Reverse Flash
No Jay Garrick
Dad still in prison
No time travel
No breaches
No Earth 2
No doppelgängers
Eddie alive
Etc....

Cisco also warned him not to tell any of them about who Wells really is. That he had to keep the time line in tact. " it's going to be hard to course correct if anything gets altered. So get what you need and come back, preferably to this moment this exact time your leaving, otherwise you might set up a twelve monkeys time loop you'll never get out of." Cisco warned. Barry's nerves began to kick in. "No pressure!" Cisco encouraged. "Yeah!" Barry answered sarcastically.

"So we'll see ya in like. . .two seconds." He laughed. Barry smiled. "Time travel's so weird." Cisco added hugging Bare. Barry hugged Caitlin. "Godspeed Barry."I'll be fine." He assured them. "What could go wrong?" With that he began to take off, not before getting a glare from Harry.

Barry ran and focused on the exact moment, but suddenly something horrifying came flying at him, screaming. He lost focus and fell. Looking up he saw his old self standing over Hartley. "No. I'm too early." He whispered. "This is not a good start." Suddenly a sharp noice pierced his ear. He groaned and held his ear. His past self turned and saw him.

Realizing he had been noticed Barry ran off, praying his past self would continue on with Hartley. He hid behind a trash bin and watched. His eyes widened. "Yeah! I remember this. This could still work." He listened to Hartley. "...are they gonna hear you die?" He spoke along with his past self answering Hartley.

As soon as Hartley pushed past Barry with his sound waves into the glass sign Barry ran and grabbed him. He took him behind a building as Hartley called out to him. Barry removed his past selfs coms. "My coms? Who are you?" Barry asked. "I don't have time to explain this to you right now." Before Barry could inject the trank dart, his past self ran off. He chased after him. They fought, but finally he got him on the ground. "I don't understand. You're me!" Barry sighed. "I'm sorry. This wil all make sense eventually. He took the dart and injected it into past Flash.

After he was out Barry switched emblems and ran back to Hartley. He took his gloves off and held him by his collar. "Gotcha again." Hartley looked at him in confusion. "Looks like your not as smart as everyone says." Hartley recovered from his confusion. "Smart enough to know who Harrison Wells really is. You see I know his secret." Barry held is gaze firm with Hartley. "Barry are you there?" Cisco asked. "Yeah. Yeah I'm back. I'm brining Hartley in."

Barry took Hartley in and they locked him up. "The scanners picking up foreign metallic objects in your ears. Take them out." Cisco said coldly. "I can't. I suffered head trauma when Star Labs exploded. My hearing was severely damaged. Without these I am in pain you can only imagine." Hartley answered.

Barry thought back and remembered Hartley using whatever those were to blow the door off his cell. "Cisco see if the devices in his ear are generating any low level electro magnetic pulses." He ordered calmly. "You want me to scan for E-bombs?" Cisco clarified. "Don't you think that could have been what was messing with the coms?" Barry said. Cisco did as he was told. "Well, well. Tryin' to go all Mission Impossible on us? Tryin' to bust outta here?" Cisco asked Hartley. Hartley stayed silent and rolled his eyes.
