Barry's POV.

Barry sat in the living room after getting back from work. He looked at his cell phone thinking about trying to call Ella again, but sighed putting it down. It was no use. She wouldn't answer. It has been three days already and she obviously didn't want to talk to him.

Just then Iris came down stairs. Barry smiled. "Hey what's up?" Iris looked down. Barry scrunched his eyebrows together. "Iris?" She set her coffee cup down on the dining table and walked over to where he was sitting. "I have an interview for a reporting job at CCPN tomorrow." She told him. Barry's eyes widened. "What?! That's amazing, Iris!"

She nodded and smiled weakly, sitting down on the couch next to him. "Thanks." "Why aren't you happy about this? This has been your dream since forever!" He asked. Iris looked down. "There was job opening because someone quit." She said. Barry looked at her in confusion. "So?" "So. . .that means that they're leaving Central City." Barry raised his eyebrows not understand what she was getting at.

She sighed and put her hand on his. He glanced down at it in confusion. "Ella's leaving, Barry." His eyebrows furrowed. Had he heard her right? "She's leaving Central City." Iris continued. Barry looked down and blinked. He pulled his hand from Iris and sat up straighter. "I'm sorry, Barry." He looked back up at Iris. He felt as if his heart had been shattered. "Why?" He asked. Iris shook her head. "She said she can't stay knowing your here." She answered.

Barry stood up quickly. "Why?!" Iris stood up as well. "Because, Barry! You lied to her! You went against everything I told you and kept this a secret from her!" Iris said loudly. "But she forgave me! She said we were friends. She told me we couldn't be together anymore, but not that she was leaving!" He exclaimed.

"I know, Barry. Look. Maybe you should go see her." "She doesn't want to see me. I've tried calling, but she never answers." "Just try. You don't have much of a choice here." Barry sighed and looked down. He nodded and walked to the door. "Good luck." She shouted. He nodded and ran to Ella's apartment.

He had to stop her. Barry came to a stop in front of her door. He knocked and waited. The door opened. Ella had her hair in a messy bun and had a box full of nicknacks under her arm. She stared at him in dread. Barry looked her in the eye. "Your we're going to leave without telling me." He said. Ella stepped back and looked down.

Barry walked inside. The furniture was mostly gone. Only a few pieces were left. Boxes were stacked and strung throughout the apartment. He heard the door close.

Barry turned to Ella. She was looking down at the box under her arm. "So that's it? You just weren't going to tell me that you were leaving Central City? What? You didn't think I'd find out?" He asked. Ella kept her gaze at the ground. "It's not like that."

"Then tell me what it is then? I thought we were friends Ella?" "We are. We are, Barry, but I cannot stay here." She said finally looking up at him. "But why?" He asked. "Because! I can't stay here after what you did, Barry!" "I thought you understood." He shook his head. "Well I don't. Barry, if you love someone you share. You do not keep secrets!" "I was trying to protect you!" He exclaimed. "I didn't want protection, Barry! I wanted to be your wife!"

Silence filled the room. Barry looked down after a moment. "I know." He looked back up at her. "I'm sorry." She looked away from him. "I know Barry. I am too. I really am, but I can't stay." She said sadly. "Ella please. Don't go." He begged coming closer to her. "Barry, please. I'm sorry but I'm leaving. There's nothing you can do or say to stop me." She told him turning away.

Barry stared at her back in anger. She was right. "Fine. Have it your way leave me again! Take off and never contact me! That's what you always do." He said angrily. Ella turned to him glaring. She had tears in her eyes. "Don't even start with me, Barry! You know it wasn't my fault when we left Central City. You even told me that."

He shrugged. "Maybe I was wrong. If you remember you never even tried to contact me. Pretty great friend." Barry scoffed. Ella had tears in her eyes. "How could you say that?! I- you know what? Maybe it's best that I leave, now! I would have rather not found out what you truly thought about me when we couldn't get out of it." Barry was hurt and angry. "Maybe your right. Goodbye, Ella." He said not knowing what else to say. She nodded. "Goodbye."

Barry turned around to leave and his foot knocked over shoe box full of papers. Ella noticed. Barry looked down and in a flash picked up all the papers before she could object. What she hadn't known was that he read some of them by accident as well. They were all to Barry. He picked up the shoe box and handed it to her. She accepted it. "Thanks." "No problem. Bye." "Bye."

With that he left. Ella hadn't known, but Barry had snatched a few of the letters and pocketed them.

When Barry got back to the house he took the papers out of his pocket and started to read them, but before he could Iris came down. He quickly put them back in his pocket. "How did it go?" Iris asked. "She's leaving. There's nothing I can do about it." He answered heading toward the stairs. "Barry. . ." He turned to her. "Iris. It's over okay. She made that quite clear." She nodded. "I'm sorry, Bare." "Look I'm gonna go to bed. It's late. Night." Barry said. "Night."

That night all Barry could was think of how all of this was every bit his fault. Barry couldn't sleep so he decided to go for a run. He ran though the city until he came to a stop on a bridge. It just happened to be the exact same bridge where Ella had first met the Flash. Barry looked out onto the water. He shook his head. He should have told her. He should have told her that night, but like always he had to mess everything up.

Ella wasn't the only thing he had ruined. He was to blame for everything that had happened in last few days. The singularity, Ronnie's death, Eddie's death, the reason Caitlyn was a widow, the reason Iris had lost her true love, the city being nearly destroyed, Ella leaving. . .it was all his fault.

At that moment Barry swore that he wouldn't let his friends or anyone else who he loved get close to the Flash. It was better that he keep them at a distance. He also vowed to clean up and fix everything in the city.

Ella's POV.

The next day Ella finally got everything packed away and shipped to Smallville. That night she bought a train ticket to Starling City. There she would catch a plane to Smallville. Ella waited at the train station patiently. She could here the roaring of the train in the distance. The wind blew her hair in front of her face once the train pulled up. When it came to a stop she waited for the people to get off then she got on.

Ella looked around for a seat. She sat next to the window and stared out at the station. This was it. She was never coming back. The train jerked forward a little bit and then began to roll away, leaving the station behind. Ella watched the city lights fly past she watched as the trained approached the train bridge.

Suddenly Ella saw a steak of red zoom past them. Her heart lurched. A tear fell down her cheek as everyone in the train looked out their windows and took pictures. "Goodbye, Barry." She whispered. With that Ella leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes. It was time to move on.
