Barry's POV.

It had been a day since Ella had interviewed the Streak. It was strange. When he got there and began to talk to her, he couldn't help, but smile. And when she had blushed it had made him smirk. Why was he happy that she was attracted to The Streak? He should have been weirded out, but he wasn't.

Barry was in his lab looking over some files, when he heard Ella's voice. "Barry?" He looked up at her. He smiled. "Hey. Wh-what are you doing here?" "Well...it's Saturday and I don't have to work so... I decided to come see my best friend." She smiled. Barry felt happy that she came there only to see him. "I'm glad." He said.

Ella walked over to the desk, where Barry was sitting. "So I handed my story in this morning." "Really? What did they think?" "I don't know. They haven't called me yet, but I think they'll like it." Barry nodded. "So tell me, How did it go with the Streak." He said dramatically. She rolled her eyes.

"Actually, it's the Flash now." Barry held back a smile. He tired to look confused. "What do you mean?" "He told me he didn't like the name Streak so I came up with the Flash and he said it sounded perfect." She smiled. "Cool."

"Yeah. Anyway...I asked him a few questions. He was very polite and answered all of them. He's really sweet and ..." Barry felt a small smile form on his lips. "And?" "I don't know, refreshing." He nodded. "He took me back home afterwards and...it was amazing. He's amazing." Barry fought off a wide smile. "

"Is that a crush, that I'm hearing?" He asked playfully. Ella scoffed. "No. Just admiration. He intrigues me." Barry began to feel his stomach flutter. The way she said that last sentence...."He intrigues you?" She nodded. "Yes." He nodded, deciding not to ask anything else.

Just then Ella's cellphone went off. She got up and answered it. "Hello? Yes? Really?! Oh. Umm...." She looked over at Barry. "No of course not. Yes I do want the job. I-" She nodded. "Yes sir." Then she hung up.

Barry got up and walked over to her. "What's wrong?" She looked down and seemed to put on a smile. "That was my boss. He read the interview and loved it." "That's great!" He exclaimed. "Yeah, he liked it so much that he wants me to write a new article for the paper." "Ella, that's amazing! Your going to be a real reporter!" "I know. It's great, but...the article is...it's about The Flash." Barry's face fell. "What?" She nodded.

"But you can't! It's too dangerous!" He panicked. "I know. I know, but on the phone he said that if I don't except the offer, then I stay a photographer." Barry began passing. "But that's not fair! Your a great reporter, Ella! You deserve a chance." "I know. Barry, I just don't know what to do." She sighed. Barry sighed heavily and put his hand on his head. "You really don't really have a choice, do you?" He asked understandingly. She shook her head.

"Maybe I should just except the fact that...I'm never gonna be a reporter. Maybe I'm just not meant for it." She looked down. Barry shook his head and walked over to her holding her arms. She looked up at him. "No. You are meant for this. You have to do it." "But Barry I promised you and the Flash-" "I know, but if I can understand the situation, then I'm sure The Flash will." "Maybe." "I know he will."

She smiled slightly. "I hope so. Thanks Barry. I think I'll talk to him first before I make my decision." Barry felt thankful that she would talk to the Flash beforehand. "Good idea. And your welcome. Just...be careful okay. Use your head and try to be safe." He said. He couldn't help, but worry about her. He didn't want to loose her. He couldn't loose her. She smiled. "I will. I promise."

He nodded and brought her in for a hug. As he held her, he felt her relax. He began to feel a sense of security holding her. He knew he had a new job to do. He had to protect her.
