Barry's POV.

Barry was walking down the stairs of the CCPD when he heard Patty call to him. "Barry?" He stopped on the stairs and looked at her. "Hey, I was looking for you. I would have called, but I don't have your number yet so. . ." Barry realized that he hadn't called her. "Oh yeah! Do you. . .?"

"No, no, no. I just wanted to show you this. These were found in alley off of Eastwood Avenue." She said handing him a plastic bag. He took a look at it. "What are these? Teeth?" He asked. "Shark teeth. And I have an eye witness who says he saw a shark walking on land. A-a man shark." He smirked at her. "A man shark?" He laughed. "Sounds like a bad sci-fi movie." "Or an awesome sci-fi movie." She laughed.

"Totally. Um, are you for real? You think there's actually uh. . .shark-" "Yeah, yeah I know it sounds. . .really wacko, but nothing seams impossible now that we have meta-humans right?" She asked. Barry titled his head to the side. Even this sounded far out.

"And I thought it would be fun. You know? For us to work together again on a case." "Yeah no. I would love to work on anything with you. . .um. . .it's just meta-humans aren't really my thing." "Oh, oh yeah that's fine. I can handle it. . ." She began to take the bag back. "Hey you know what umm. . .I'll run a test. See where the. . . teeth care from." He told her. "That would be amazing, thanks." She smiled. "Alright cool. Yeah, yeah sure." He smiled back.

"Detective Spivott." Joe greeted walking up to them. "Detective. How's your man shark case comin'?" He asked. "It's good I was just about to go and canvas the area and Barry here agreed to run some tests for me." "Really?" He asked. Barry nodded. "So progress." She smiled. Patty turned to Barry. "Thanks again." He nodded. She walked away.

Barry watched her walk away and began to walk away himself, until Joe spoke. "You know if I didn't know any better I'd say you were flirting with my partner." He said. "Wait. Patty?" He laughed nervously as they both walked into the office. Has he been flirting with her? "What are you talking about? I-" Joe smiled widely. "What is it with you and Iris and my partners?" He asked setting a folder down on his desk.

Hearing Iris's name made him want to ask a question. "How is Iris by the way? Does she know?" He asked. Joe nodded. "Yeah and she's pretty nervous about seeing her mother after all these years." Barry nodded. "Yeah."

"How are you and Ella doing?" Joe asked hesitantly. Barry sucked in a breath and let it out. "I don't really know to be honest. We haven't really talked and whenever we see each other she just seems really far away." Joe nodded sadly. "I'm sorry. I'm sure she two will be back to normal kn no time. You just gotta give it time." Joe said. Barry nodded. "Yeah, I guess."

Soon Barry's phone buzzed. He looked at it. "It's Cisco. There's a bank robbery in progress. I've gotta go." He said. Joe nodded. "Yeah, okay. I'll cover for you." Barry nodded and walked out.

Later that night Barry had run the tests he had promised Patty's and called her there. She looked at the tests. "Human DNA?" She asked. He walked over to her. "Yep. Not a man shark. Not even a land shark ma'am." He joked. She nodded staring down at the papers. "Well thanks for testing it for me." She said as she walked away slowly.

"Yeah, what are you showing to do now?" He asked. She turned around. "I don't know probably file it under never gonna happen I have another case anyway." She rambled. "Oh really? Anything I can help you with?" He asked. "No. No, no, no, no. Detective said d-definitely n-not." She blurted.

Barry's eyebrows furrowed. "Is everything all good?" He asked. "Sure! Why?" She asked. "I don't know. Your just acting kinda different." He chuckled at her. "What? No!  No. I'm the same old. . . P. Spivott." She smiled. Barry watched her adorable rambling and wanted to laugh.
