Barry's POV.
It had been two weeks since Barry had traveled in time and changed the future. Ella was now in a relationship with Scott Beckett and she was happy. The night of her Christmas party Barry had been so busy with Snart that he didn't go and see Ella. He had messed up his chance with her even more. Now she would never fall inlove with the Flash. Everything was messed up.
Since then Barry had kept his distance from her as the Flash and as himself He couldn't stand the thought of her with another guy. Not only that, but he felt guilty for all that he had caused. He couldn't bring himself to face her, knowing that nothing would ever be the same.
Iris and Barry were hanging out at Jitters and having coffee. "So how's work?" She asked. "Oh great. Everything's good." He answered. Iris looked at Barry. "Barry, what's going on? For the past two weeks you've been acting really down and off. Is it...is it me and Eddie?" She asked. Barry's eyes widened. "No! Iris no. I'm fine now, I swear. I'm glad you two are happy." He said.
Iris nodded. "Okay. So what's with this new attitude all of the sudden?" She asked. "I don't want to talk about it. Honestly I'm fine." He told her. "Barry, I know you. Your my brother. The only time I've ever seen you act this way was in high school when you were dumped by Becky Cooper. What's going on with you?" She asked gently. He opened his mouth to say something, but saw Ella walk through the door. Iris followed his eyes. She looked back at him in confusion.
Ella saw the two and walked over. Barry looked down. "Hey guys!" She smiled. Barry nodded and smiled. "Hey, Ella! What's up?" "Oh, just coming in for some coffee. So Bare. What's up? I haven't seen you in a while." Ella told him. Barry smiled awkwardly. "Yeah, I've been really busy." He hadn't actually lied. He had been very busy with Flash business. The trickster, and secretly investigating Dr. Wells. "Oh. I get it. Well I'll see you around. See you tomorrow Iris." Ella waved. Iris smiled. "Okay, see you!"
After Ella left Iris turned to Barry. "You've been avoiding Ella? Why?" Iris asked. "Wha- I haven't been avoiding Ella." He scoffed. "Barry. She said she hasn't seen you for two weeks. The Barry I know wouldn't have gone 2 weeks without seeing his best friend." Barry rolled his eyes. "Wait. Two weeks ago Ella started dating Scott. Is that why you've been avoiding her?" "No. Iris, look-"
"Don't lie to me. I see how you look at her. You said you were over me. Honestly I don't think you were ever inlove with me as much as you were inlove with her. You admitted to me that you were inlove with her once. And I don't think you've ever lost those feelings." She told him. "Iris-" Barry began.
"Barry, listen to me. If you love Ella as much as I know you do...you shouldn't avoid her. Barry, Ella loves you too. She may not know it, but she always has." Iris said. "I don't know. I messed up with her and...now she's with Scott. I just feel guilty for what happened." Iris nodded. "Well, whatever you did. I'm sure Ella would want you to talk to her about it." She said. Barry nodded. "Look I gotta go. Think about what I said, though." She told him. Barry nodded. "I will."
Later that day Barry and the group found a secret room that Dr. Wells had. He had the reverse flashes suit. Just then a hologram of a newspaper from 2024 appeared. The newspaper told about the Flash's disappearance.
"I like the new suit." Cisco commented. "Wait. What if after seeing this we change the colors of your suit? Or what if we don't change out of fear? It would be a complete time paradox! Woah this is trippy. Like... Marty and the Polaroid trippy." Cisco said. "Not as trippy as the byline." Caitlyn commented. Barry looked and saw the name Ella N. Allen. "Mazeltov?" Cisco congratulated Barry.
Just then a personal assistant called Gideon came on the screen. Barry asked her questions of why Dr. Wells was doing all of this. She answered the questions vaguely. Cisco and Caitlyn called Barry's me told him that Dr. Wells was coming. Barry rushed them out, telling Gideon not to tell Wells.
