Ella's POV.

Ella had to work all the next day. On her break she went to CCPD to see Barry. She walked into his lab and knocked on the doorway. Barry looked up at her from his desk in surprise. "Hey." Ella smiled and walked in. "Hey, Bare." "What are you doin' here?" He asked standing and shoving his hands into his pockets. "I just came to see how things were going. You know with your situation." Barry nodded solemnly. "Yeah. Well, uh. . .it's goin'." He answered. Ella nodded.

She looked around the lab and then noticed something broken on the floor. "What's that?" She asked nodding to the shattered object. Barry looked down and took a deep breath. "Oh. Yeah. Um, I knocked over. . . my mug." Ella looked at him sadly, but smiled. "Well, why don't we clean it up?" She suggested walking over to where a broom and dust pan were. "Ella you don't have-" She came back to the spot and began sweeping up the fragments. After throwing them in the trash she cane back with paper towel and cleaning spray. Crouching down, She began to soak up the coffee.

After she was finished she threw the paper towel away and came back to Barry, who was now sitting on the edge of his desk. "There. All done." She smiled triumphantly. He gave her half a smile. Her own smile faded and she walked closer to him and put her hands on his shoulders. "I know it's hard Barry. I can't imagine what your going threw right now." She said softly. He looked down. "I never thought being normal would feel so. . ." "Abnormal?" Ella asked. He nodded.

"This isn't your normal, Barry." She told him. He sighed and looked at her. "It's going to take some time to get used to life without your powers. Remember when you couldn't walk?" She asked. He nodded. "This is somewhat like that. When a person loses their ability to walk, they have to get used to life without their legs. It isn't normal to them, but eventually it will be. It just takes time." Barry nodded sadly, while crossing his arms.

Ella put her right hand on the back of his neck. "But I promise you this. I'll be here, with you. And so will the others. Your not alone, Barry. I won't let you deal with this on your own. Okay? Our friends won't let you either." She assured him. For the first time since she had come in Barry looked at her with love instead of sadness. "Okay. Thank you." Ella gave a small smile. "Your welcome."

She kissed him softly. Smiling, she pulled away. "See. Some things never change." He quirked an eyebrow at her. "Your still just as good a kisser as you were when you had your powers." She grinned. Barry smiled and gave a laugh. She pecked his lips once more. "I should get going. I'll see you later though." She said as she turned around to walk out.

"You coming to STAR Labs later?" He asked, walking to her. Ella turned around and shook her head. "I can't today. I work all day until six. I may come in after though if I'm not too tired." He nodded. She kissed him goodbye. "I love you. See you later." "Love you too."

Later on around 3:00, Ella got a call from Barry. She was right in the middle of copying some papers. She answered the phone and held it between her shoulder and her ear. "Hey Bare, what's up?" "Dr. Wells has been taken." "What?!" She exclaimed. Realizing she had yelled, Ella looked around the news room and smiled apologetically.

Turning back she whispered. "What? When? How?" "Just an hour ago. We saw it on the STAR Labs car-cam. He ran into something and this guy pulled him out of the car." Barry explained. "Oh no. . ." "I know. First Wally, then Caitlin and now Wells." "You can't blame yourself, Barry." She told him. He was silent. "Bare?"

"Yeah. Yeah. Look, I'm heading out there right now." "Well, you know I would drop everything to go with you, but I can't. I wish I could." "I know. I think I'll give Iris a call." Ella nodded. "Okay. Well, keep me posted." She said as she picked up the papers off the copier. "I will." The call ended.
