Barry's POV.
Barry was talking with Eddie trying to "explain" everything that happened with the metal man meta-human. Explain meaning making up science stuff and confusing him enough where he'll think it makes sense. Just then Iris walked in. Barry and her had not been on speaking terms. He had asked her quite forcefully a week ago to stop writing her blog and she said no. He told her he couldn't se much of her because of it.
"Hey." "Barry." She said coldly. He slink back into the background, watching the two of them talk. "Hi. Babe I saw the news are you okay?" She asked. "Yeah I'm fine. But you would know if you checked your messages. I tried you three times." Barry picked up a newspaper and began to read it. So he was the one she declined. "Sorry I...had to work late." Barry looked up. She lied. He was the one she declined. He smiled to himself.
"So I heard the Streak saved a kid. Any comment detective?" "All I know is that the perp got away. And Barry here is gonna help me find him." He smiled. "Yeah..." "Fine. I have other sources. I will see you tonight. Bye."
Then without another word she left. "What is going on with you two?" "What do you mean?" Barry asked. He backed up and bumped into the door. "Nothing. It's-we're fine. It's fine. I don't know." He stumbled over his words. He then left as soon and he could.
Later that day at Star Labs Barry had dislocated his shoulder by training to take down the meta-human. He laid down and waited for Caitlyn to put it back. "Okay let's do this." "So Barry when you said you were off duty last night...you weren't visiting Iris again? You know in disguise? Because that would be reckless and a little creepy." She said. Barry shifted his eyes and shook his head. "No." He lied. "Good." Then she popped his arm back in, without warning.
Ella's POV.
Ella had gone to jitters for coffee and occasionally talked with Iris during breaks. All of the sudden a big tall guy came in and began to flirt with Iris. He looked familiar. When Ella realized that he was bothering her she went up to him. "I think you need to leave." "What if I don't want to." "Then I'll call the police. It's not a good idea to harass a woman." Ella said.
"Ella this is Tony. Remember in school?" "Oh, yeah." Ella remembered he was the guy who bullied her best friend for years. Now she really, really didn't like him. "Wait. Ella? Well...you've grown up fine." He said. Ella rolled her eyes. "Bye Tony."
"Listen what time are you off?" He asked Iris. "I don't think my boyfriend would approve. He's a cop. Like my dad." "I never did like cops too much." He said annoyed. Just then Ella looked up at the tv screen. He was a wanted man. She elbowed Iris. "Iris." She whispered. Iris saw the tv. And backed away behind Ella. "What about you Ella?" "Umm...I have a boyfriend too. He's... a...forensic scientist at CCPD. I don't think it would be a good idea."
Just then tony saw Iris pulling out her phone. "Give me the phone Iris. Now!" She gave it to him. He took and his arm turned to metal. He was a meta. He crushed the phone in his hands. Then pulled out a roll of money out of his pocket and put it in the top jar. "Sorry for the damage. We'll pick this up another time." He said to the both of them and left.
Iris and Ella both looked at one another. "Did you see that?" She asked. "Oh yeah." "I need to call my Dad now. Oh and by the way...did you use the excuse that Barry was your boyfriend?" She smirked. "No. I just said a forensic scientist. Just because that's what Barry does doesn't mean I meant him." "And he works at the CCPD?"
"Okay so maybe I did. So what? I was under pressure and couldn't think okay." She laughed. "Okay." Then Ella began to wonder...was it because she was thinking under pressure or was it because he was the only person she could think of to be her boyfriend?
Barry's POV.
Caitlyn came to Barry with a tablet. "You want to tell me about this? I have info about someone your looking for. He was here. You know where to find me? Now who could she be talking to?" Barry tried to explain, but obviously couldn't.
He ran to Jitters where Iris was. "Guess you got my message." You said smiling. "Are you okay?" He asked. "Cops daughter I can handle myself." She said flirtatiously. "Not with this guy." "I knew him when we were kids. He didn't want to hurt me. He wanted to impress us." "Us?" "Yeah. Me and my friend Ella." Now Barry was really worried. Tony was after two of his closest friends.
"Look, he was fixated on you. And not in a good way. "Do you know where he went?" "He said he had a place in West Keystone. Bragged about how big it was, but I don't know where it is." "I do." Barry turned around ready to leave.
"Wait! There's something else. His arm it turned into metal. He's like you, isn't he?" "Yes and writing about me is what brought him to you." He was really tired of all this. Why couldn't she just listen? "I know, but maybe I could talk to him-" "No! He's too dangerous!"
"Fine, but before you go...my friend Ella, she just got this job and if she doesn't get an original story she her job will be at stake. Could you meet her on the Central City Walking Bridge on Thursday night at 8 o'clock? It would mean the world to her if she could get a tiny interview from you. Just enough to ensure her job." Barry thought about it. He couldn't let Ella stay a photographer forever and she promised she would stop. "Fine. I'll be there."
Suddenly there was a knock at the door. "Shoot, Eddie insisted I have a police escort me...." And he left.
