Lachlan's POV

"So Vikk, Whatta you wanna do tonight?" I ask. "I donno." He mumbles.

I look over at him, only for him to be looking the other way.

"Hey Vikk?" I question. "Mmhm?" He responds. "Are y-"

"Heyyyyy guys!" Simon yells, interrupting me. He throws his arms around the both of us as we walk down the hallway.

"Hey Si." Vikk says with a smile. His sudden change in moods is odd, I'd have to ask him later. "What's up my dudes?" He asks.

"Not much. Just heading home. You?" I say, still keeping an eye on Vikk. "Same same." He says. He runs off as soon as he sees Josh and the others, leaving us alone.

"Are you okay?" I ask Vikk. "Yeah. I'm alright. Let's just go home." He smiles. I look at him for a second before I'm pulled away by Vikk, going to my car.

"I have an idea" I say, buckling up my seat belt. "What's that?" Vikk asked. "Let's go somewhere, different? It may take a while to get there though" I offer.

"Sure" He simply replied. I start the car, glancing ever so often at Vikk. I knew something was up.

When he was nervous, distressed, sad or in his own world, he'd play with the cuff of his sleeve and bite his bottom lip ever so softly.

"Vikk" I state. "Yeah?" He mumbles. "What's wrong?" I ask.

"Nothing's wrong." He says. I sigh, but keep driving.

-Time Skip-

It's dark. The stars are out, as is the moon. Vikk is still wide awake in the passengers seat next to me.

He's still out of it, not acting like he normally would. I gave up trying to ask him what's wrong. I knew he wouldn't budge if i kept asking.

"We're here" I say, undoing the buckle. Vikk steps out of the car. "You took me to a giant rock?" Vikk questioned.

"No dummy." I laugh, wrapping my arm around his shoulder. "There's the path, it's over here" I say, grabbing his hand and pulling him up the path.

We reach the top, seeing all the city lights glowing. "Wow, this is amazing." Vikk says. "Yeah." I say, keeping my gaze on him.

We both sit down for a while in the silence. "I love how each star shines differently." He comments. "Yeah, It's pretty" I say.

We don't speak, only the sound of the wind rustling the leaves. Vikk stands up suddenly, not saying a word.

He walks to the ledge of the rock, close to the very edge. "Woah, back it up Vikk" I say, jumping to my feet. "Why should I?" He asked, not moving.

"You're too close to the edge." I say. "So? Why does it matter anymore? Why don't I just throw myself off" He mutters, tears falling already.

"Vikk, calm down. Please. Back away" I plead. He stays still for a few seconds, no words said.

He stumbles backwards, breaking down whilst falling to the ground. I pull him into my arms, holding him tight.

He bursts out crying, gripping my shirt like it's a lifeline. "Vikk, shush. It's alright. I got you. I got you" I mumble, rubbing his back.

His breathing softens as he relaxes in my grip. "It's alright Vikk." I kiss his forehead. He loosens his grip on my shirt, burying his face into my shoulder.

"I see your monsters" I mumble softly. "I see your pain." I continue.

"Tell me your problems, I'll chase them away" I sing soothingly.

"I'll be your lighthouse" I smile. "I'll make it okay." I kiss his cheek.

"When i see your monsters, I'll stand there so brave and chase them all away" I finish.

He's totally calm in my arms, eyes shut but still awake.

"Don't scare me like that again." I say. He opens his eyes and nods, tears still straying down his cheeks.

"I love you." I say, brushing the hair out of his eyes. "I love you too." He smiles sadly.
