Chapter 10 - Heart breaker

"So pumupunta ka pala ng library?"

Sebastian groaned and ignored me. Sinabi ko sa kanya na kailangan kong maglibrary dahil may libro akong kailangan hanapin para sa thesis.

So sinabi niyang sabay na kami dahil pupunta rin siya.

Pagpasok sa elevator ay sinabi ko na 4th floor. Hindi naman siya umimik at nang nasa 3rd floor na kami ay tumingin ako sa kanya at kumunot ang noo ko.

"What?"

"Hindi ka sa 3rd?"

"4th."

Kahit nagtataka ay hindi ko na pinansin. Pagdating sa 4th ay iniwan ko na siya sa kung anong gagawin niya and I went to find my book.

Umupo ako sa bakanteng upuan nang nahanap ko na at nagsimulang magbasa. Then he sat across me but I didn't look up.

There was no book on the table at nagcecellphone lang siya while resting his head on the table. Minsan mapapansin ko na sinusulyapan niya ako pero hindi ako tumitingin pabalik.

"Akala ko ba may kailangan ka?" I whispered.

"Hindi ko mahanap. Samahan nalang kita."

So sinamahan niya ako I stayed an hour more dahil kumuha pa ako ng ibang book and scanned it for the article that I want photocopied later.

He just sat quietly there. Surprisingly hindi siya nagrereklamo at hindi rin siya nanggugulo.

My eyes darted on his lips. I looked away immediately.

As much as possible hindi namin binabanggit ang nangyari nung Christmas party.

We were both shocked. Siya mas naschock kaysa akin at naalala ko 'yung itsura niya after it happened. It ended quickly as it happened too. My lips just brushed his but I can still feel it until now.

We uttered sorry in unison and then it became awkward. But we came around after a few days since hindi naman sadya and after that I promised to never kiss him again.

Hiyang hiya ako sa kanya at gusto ko nalang tumakbo pauwi at magkulong sa kwarto.

I'm just glad that no one saw us so we dismissed it like it never happened so now we are back to being our normal selves.

Or at least he is dahil hindi ako makakaget over doon and I don't think I will ever.

"Tapos na ako." Kinalabit ko siya.

Dahan dahan niya inangat ang tingin at natawa ako.

"Bored ka na?"

"Ang tagal mo grabe. Nakalimutan ko na ang sipag mo palang magbasa."

"Tara na. Magpapaphotocopy lang ako then okay na."

Tumango siya at naunang maglakad. See he didn't even offer to carry the books for me pero pinagbuksan naman niya ako ng pinto.

Forever the gentleman, Sebastian Valdez.

"Saan ka na pupunta? Uuwi ka na?"

"Oo. Nagpasundo rin kasi ako."

Pag hindi ko iyon sinabi malamang yayayain nanaman niya ako sa apartment niya. It's not like I don't to be there with him pero may gagawin pa ako at medyo dimidistansya muna ako sa kanya dahil nahihiya pa rin ako.

I lay on my stomach while opening the book he gave me. May note pang nakaipit doon sa first page.

Merry Christmas, Viktoria Marie. Mageexpect rin ako sa regalo mo. Don't disappoint me. :)

I gave him a mini basketball court na laruan. The one you can play with when you're bored and a mug na may design ng ball. Not that special katulad nung sa kanya but I know he would like it dahil siya agad ang naisip ko nung nakita ko 'yun. Binigyan ko rin ng same mug si Liam and he liked it.

I gave him a note too.

Hindi niya sinabi sa akin kung nagustuhan ba niya o hindi pero nagthank siya sa akin personally and through text many times so I guess he did like it.

The next days just passed by without anything special. Thesis with my group mates, makinig ng lessons at magpaprint ng papers. Halos isang linggo rin kaming hindi nagkita ni Sebastian dahil magkaiba kami ng schedule at busy na ako sa final draft ng thesis.

Save for today when I have an extra time for finishing my part in the thesis early. I was making myself at home in his sofa while reading an e-book then I noticed that he is half smiling and half smirking at me.

"Ano?"

"Anong ano? Ano nanaman ginawa ko sayo?" Painosente niyang sabi.

"Bakit ganyan ka makatingin?"

"Do I need to have a reason?"

I shook my head. Never mind.

"Nakausap ko si Chris. He said hindi pa siya nanliligaw pero binasted mo na siya."

Nanlaki ang mata ko. "Sinabi niya iyon sayo?"

He nodded. "Tsk. He said you're a heart breaker."

I winced. "Hindi ako aware na medyo madaldal pala siya."

But to his credit, at least hindi niya sinabing ako ang inayawan niya. There are only few others who would admit na nabasted sila.

"Few days with you at nahulog na agad siya sayo? Heart breaker indeed."

"Sarcastic ka ba? Alam ko maganda ako but you know there are still guys who are not enticed by me. There's you, Liam, Jordan, Cedric."

"Cedric," He said a little bit loud. "Had been head over heels with you."

Binaba ko ang phone ko at umayos ng upo. "Anong point mo?"

"Actually, I find you beautiful. Kailan ko ba sinabing hindi ka maganda?"

"Beauty isn't all that matters apparently. And that's not what I wanted to know. Ano pang sinabi ni Christopher?" 

"That's all. Hindi ko lang alam na binasted mo pala siya." He is still between smirking and smiling.

"Hindi ko alam na kailangan ko magreport sayo and for the record, hindi ko nga siya binasted. Hindi naman siya nanligaw so not counted. And we are still friends so what's the fuss about really?"

"His Mr. Eng'g pride couldn't accept it." He said while laughing.

"Bakit ka tumatawa? Excuse me mister, walang nakakatuwa okay?"

"Masaya lang ako! Tsaka hindi naman kayo bagay so it's good that you ended it. Masyado siyang mabait para sayo."

"Sinong tingin mo bagay sa akin? Ikaw?" Tumaas ang kilay ko. 

His lips twitched as if he remembered he asked me the same thing before.

"You have no idea, love. You'll be surprise of what I can do. I could do many many things. Stuff you don't expect and you'll find that--"

I threw a pillow at him and it hit him right in the face before he get to finish what he's saying.
