Chapter 35 - Ingat

Masaya akong malaman na masaya siya para sa akin. I don't know why that is important for me but it is.

And just like that we became friends again. Unti unti kaming nagkakausap pag magkakasama kami. Hindi na siya tahimik kagaya dati na pag kasama si David. He actually made an effort to start a conversation once with him.

I don't know but I feel like I should talk to David about this. Gusto kong maging honest kami sa isa't isa and I wanna know if he's okay with this.

"Okay lang ba sayo na magkausap ulit kami ni Sebastian?"

"Bakit mo natanong?"

"Gusto ko lang malaman kung ano ang iniisip mo."

Kinuha niya ang kamay ko at pinaglaruan ang daliri ko at sinagot niya ako habang nakatungo siya. "Yes. Wala naman akong right pagbawalan ka makipagusap sa kanya."

"Pag sinabi mong ayaw mo then I can avoid him."

"Viktoria," He faced me and cupped my face. "I know how much he means to you and I don't wanna do that to you. I'm not saying as your ex but as a friend."

"You really mean that?"

"Yes. But if he does something you're not comfortable, tell me. Okay?"

Bigla akong natouch dahil sa pagkasweet niya. Being friends with Sebastian means a lot to me but with you approving means everything.

I clasped our hands together and leaned on his shoulder. Gusto kong iparamdam sa kanya na wala siyang dapat ikaselos o ikabahala because I know my limits and I won't cross it even if it's Sebastian.

"I'm friends with my ex too." He said.

"But can you really be friends with an ex? I mean after everything?"

I always thought there's no such thing like that. Kasi nasaktan niyo na ang isa't isa and there's no way I want to be friends with the person who hurt me.

I know better now. Hindi ganon kabilis pakawalan ang taong sobrang minahal mo because there's just so much memories together and you have to consider the good ones too.

"At first no. Ayaw niya akong kausapin. Mas matigas ang ulo nun sayo but she came around and we talked things over. In the end she accepted it." He said. "We both accepted that we can't be together."

Tumango ako. "I'm glad you fixed things between you."

Naalala ko nung unang beses kaming magkakilala. Kinwento niya sa akin ang case nila ng girlfriend niya.

"Me too."

It was a comfortable silence while I lay on his lap and he's finger combing my hair.

Napapikit ako sa feeling and before I could fall asleep I opened my eyes only to find him staring at me.

He smiled when our eyes met. Then he looked down. I know what that means at gusto kong sabihin na ready na ako.

Whatever he's thinking changed his mind because he shook and his head and looked at my eyes again. "Tara na hatid na kita. Baka hinahanap ka na sa inyo."

Medyo disappointed ako because he didn't do it but I didn't say anything. Maybe I needed to give him some more time. He just moved on from a relationship and I'm still in the process.

When we got home I waited for something but as usual he just said his good bye and kissed me on the forehead. Alam kong gentleman siya and I give that to him pero gusto kong malaman niya na hindi niya kailangan maging maingat sa akin. We've been dating for almost a month now and that's all he did.

Bago siya umalis ay tinawag ko siya. I reach up and planted a kiss on his cheek. He's been careful with me because he knows what I feel and he's afraid that I'm not ready to take the next step because all this time siya lang naman ang gumagawa ng move. I never gave any effort or give him something that says I want this as much as he does.

"Ingat." Sabi ko pagkatapos.

He was taken aback by my action but he nodded and walked to his car. Not before I saw his smile. Smile that is so rare I only saw the night I told him I want to be together with him.

Then I smiled at myself knowing I did something that make him smile like that.

For all I know I might be falling for him little by little.

Nagulat ako nang bigla akong makatanggap ng text galing kay Christopher na invited ako sa birthday celebration niya.

Buong akala ko nakalimutan na niya ako and we're not really friends who invite each other on birthdays. Well I didn't so imagine my surprise.

Pinagiisipan ko pa kung pupunta ako kaya naisipan kong itext si Sebastian. If he's not going then I won't dahil siya lang ang kilala ko if ever.

Nagulat rin siya na invited ako kasi ba naman sinong hindi magugulat? He said he's going at pinagiisipan ko pa kung pupunta ako. Hindi pa ako nagcomfirm kay Christopher but kasama na ako sa reservation niya.

Iniisip ko pa kung paano ko sasabihin kay David because he might have said he's okay with Sebastian and I pero medyo uncomfortable pa rin ako.

"Okay, what is it?" David put down his spoon.

"'Yung mutual friend namin ni Sebastian magbibirthday and he invited me." Sabi ko.

"Then you should go." Sabi niya as a matter of fact.

"The thing is hindi kami close. And I sort of have a crush on him before and I like him pero binasted ko siya. At hindi ko alam na tinuturing pa rin niya akong kaibigan not until now." I blabbered.

"Crush mo pero binasted mo? Alam mo Viktoria if I'm not in love with you then I might be now." Tumawa siya.

"I know. Pero anong tingin mo? Isa pa ayaw kong pumunta kasi wala naman akong kakilala doon."

"Laki ng problema mo noh?" Tinawanan pa niya ako. "Pupunta ba si Sebastian?"

Tumango ako.

"Then go. Nandun naman siya so hindi ka maaout of place."

"Okay lang sayo? Pupunta ako kasama siya?" I asked carefully.

"Viktoria okay lang. I told you once na okay lang sa akin and I mean it. So if you want to go then go."

Ngumuso ako. "Alam mo hindi nalang ako pupunta. Hindi ko naman kilala mga pupunta. Lumabas nalang tayo."

"'Yun ba talaga ang dahilan? Ayaw mong pumunta kasi takot kang maout of place? Pupunta ka unless you're avoiding Sebastian which is not true, is it?" Tumaas ang kilay niya sa akin.

"Of course not. Fine. Pupunta ako pero itetext kita pag nabored ako so be ready because I will flood your inbox."

His answer was just a smile that said he won.
