Nico stared idly at the table in the middle of the cafeteria, which was surrounded by what the student body calls the 'Populars'. They were either cheerleaders, or in involved in something sport.
At the moment, the entire table was talking about the basketballers win on the finals.
And in the heart of all of those students, sat William Solace, the Captain of the basketball team.
William Solace, the most gorgeous boy to have ever existed, at least in Nico's eyes.
William Solace with his blue, blue eyes, the soft hue of the oceans, the colour of the sky in the afternoon, his blue eyes that contrasted perfectly well with his sun kissed, tan skin, millions of freckles dotting his cheeks.
And don't even get him started on Will's body, gods. Oh gods, it could've been carved by the gods out of marble. He'd sometimes imagine the feeling of being pressed against-
"Nice one, you're eye-raping him again."
Nico nearly screamed, before he recognised the slightly scornful tone.
"Shut up, Annabeth, as if you don't already do that to a certain Percy Jackson."
Annabeth shot him one of her famous glares, but her pale cheeks turned about fifteen shades of red and purple.
"Hah, got you there."
She slapped him.
"Ouch!" He reeled away from her, rubbing his forearm. "That hurt."
"Good, it was supposed to." She slid into the seat next to him, and tossed a careless look at the table.
"You should go talk to him, you know?"
"What, and get laughed at and called a fa-"
"Nico." Annabeth's voice dropped dangerously.
"Ugh, my point is, that's totally out of the question. People like him, they can come out, but no one would dare touch them. Me, though? I'm...a loser, an outcast, a weirdo. They'll come after me for sure."
"I won't let them."
Nico smiled sadly at the passion in Annabeth's eyes. "I appreciate that, really, I do. But no thanks."
She sighed, flipping open one of her notebooks. "I just think you should try. I mean, he is bisexual...and...sometimes, he looks over here, when you don't notice."
"Shut up, you're lying." Nico said lightly, trying to conceal his sky-rocketing pulse with a false sense of calmness.
"Okay, do what you want, man."
She continued to do her work, and Nico stared at her bowed blonde head, wondering if Annabeth was just throwing him a bone or if she really was serious.
Nico tethered at the edge of not believing Annabeth. Why would he?
Why would someone like Will even pay attention to him? Him, of all people? The weird, goth, emo kid that hangs with the nerdiest girl in school, that always stays silent and at the back of all his classes?
Nico swallowed nervously, slumping back into his seat, and couldn't help but look at the popular table again, just to see a pair of blue eyes, staring right at him.

Piper slammed her locker shut, and banged her head onto it's red metal door in extreme aggravation.
"Ugh. This school will be the death of me, I swear."
Will laughed. "You only failed one Biology test out of the entire semester, Pipes."
