Chapter 11: Lucy

The new exit wasn't an exit at all. It was where Aim mutates. I have never seen anything so big. It went on forever. But there has to be an opening some where, I see trucks. They don't just up and disappear outside of the base.

I grabbed radiation suits so we can pass buy without getting noticed. Nathan struggled to fly over and check. "That's definitely the opening. But it goes straight into New Jersey."

"Are there cars out there? " Clyde asked.

"You little fuc-" I jumped. "You were supposed to be gone!!!"

"I didn't want to go alone. What if I got caught."

I gave a long sigh and got down a suit. "You if you are old enough to have a lil crush on Lucy then you should be old enough to take care of yourself"

Clyde grunted at me." I don't. She's a friend."

"Yeah a girlfriend." Nathan joined in.

"Brooooooook." Clyde whined.

"Don't mind them. I think your little crush is cute." She smiled.

I laughed.

"HOLD IT" Allie screamed.

"Does she ever quit?!" Brook groaned.

Allie started firing and Clyde clutched the vile and began to run. He stumbled but held it steady. "Nathan. Go with him make sure he doesn't fall and break those."

Allie's voice got louder. I picked up Brook and stretched out the suit. I guess I can run in this. If we can't I'll have to do........... a regular jog. The agony.

Allie turned the corner just as I took the first step. She's going to shoot me. She's going to shoot me.

"LETS GO" Brooklyn hissed snapping me out of my trance. By that time she hopped down and was trying to drag me. I frowned and let her lead. Still trying to comprehend how she got out of my arms.

She opened the doors and managed to slam them on a few guards face. I heard Allie screaming and cursing behind the second door. Nathan grumbled under his breath while he threw away his suit. He started wavering but he eventually shot up into the air.

"Oh Avengers tower is far. And.... Holy shit." He dropped down. "Shield is coming this way"

"No way." I said looking up

"Nah I'm playing they don't care."

"Nah we care" Riley said putting her hand on me. I flinched thinking she was Allie. I reflexively threw a punch which was easy for someone of her speed to dodge.

"Fucking hell." I snapped. "You can't just sneak up on someone like that."

She patted my back. "Must have been a fun trip you took."

I chuckled trying to regain my sense. "How long were we gone?"

"3 days at most." She said helping Brooklyn.

I sat in front of Lucy holding the three 'antidotes' and the other several one. She saw them and got giddy. I covered the viles and my back was hit with an enormous amount of heat. "Listen I don't have any protection. Just chill out until you take the medicine."

"Sorry" She cleared her throat and returned to her unhappiness. I got up slowly and look at her. Even after her temperature drop I still felt the burns on my back.

She looked apologetic I let her have the option. She picked one and drank it. Her face twisted due to the taste. She suddenly fell to her knees and began to suffocate. I grabbed the antidote. She screamed and sparks flew from off her. I opened her mouth but she snipped at me. I tried more times but she tried to hit me. She kept grabbing onto my hair and she started to grope at my face and shirt. She was in pain. Her eyes were slowly rolling up. I punched her stomach and she yelled. I poured the drink down her throat. She began breathing and let go of my scalp

I fell back in exhaustion. "Why did you punch me?" She said curling up.

"You didn't want to open your god damn mouth and you kept attacking me."

"Are there anymore antidotes?"

"No."

"Then why are there two more viles."

I looked down then looked back at her. "This is what they gave us."

"What if they want to kill me? What if they want me to destroy shield. Marcu what if-"

"What if it works? What if you can leave this mono colored place?"

I picked up the blue vile and reluctantly gave it to her. "Im scared..." She whispered.

"Im scared too Luce."

She drank it and her face twisted. I watched her intently. She had a bright glow to her as she stood up. Her eyes started glowing. I got up in bewilderment. I got closer. "Marcus......." Brooklyn said something else. I couldn't hear. I was in my own world. Lucy started cracking. Her skin showed lines slowly going into her neck.  "Marcus.... move." Brooklyn said in a more frantic tone. The lines slid up her face and I took a step back. I turned to dash towards the door and in an instant I was shoved back into the wall.
