Brooklyn was very beautiful and of course I could see that. But soon other people did. Agents our age tended to flock her left and right sometimes. I tended to get jealous really easily. They usually left her alone when I'd walk around. But there was this one guy in particular that just wanted to prove he was better than me and right for her. It was actually pretty funny. Brooklyn had to give me her attention when ever this guy tried to provoke me.

He was talking to Brooklyn and she looked visibly uninterested. I only went near her because I liked hearing her voice. She gave me a look of distress. I gave her a smile and gave the flirting agent a dirty look.

"Good Morning Marcus. You seem extra happy today." She laughed.

I shrugged. That reminded me I was still being held hostage. I went up and grabbed her shoulder to whisper. "Brooklyn. We are friends now right?"

"More or less" she said

"Then let me go and I'll tell you one secret about Hydra."

My shirt was grabbed and I was pushed off of her. The agent looked at me with anger. "You do not grab a lady, especially if you are a prisoner of Shield."

I mocked his voice and his tone and his cocky attitude. I made sure to add the low tone to make him believe that I think he's stupid. Mind you this guy was a little bit taller than me but he had alot of mass. I told him to fuck off.

Brooklyn shook her hand near her neck trying to get me to stop. I looked at her confused then I got a fist straight to my nose. I felt numb as I stumbled to the ground. She distracted me and I let her. Brooklyn was in shock and the agent was taunting me.

I slowly got up and wiped the spit from my mouth.

I raised my arms in defense as he tried to bombard me with attacks. I gave two swift punches to his face. I immediately put the guy in a body lock and forced him down. I punched him a few times before Brooklyn pulled me off. We both heard quick foot steps. I stood over in triumph ready to take get detained. She looked at the bloody agent on the floor and quickly led me away before I was arrested again.

Arizona's POV

"Being raised upon the root of evil kind of sucks. You are used to thinking that the way you were taught was right. Because it made whoever in charge happy. When they are happy you don't get hurt more. But....." Kyle took a deep breath. "We aren't under their control anymore are we?"

Marcus glanced awkwardly at the cup he was holding. "No."

"Then why do you keep acting like it? You act like you never learned how to be a functioning member of society or learned anything new ever since you were freed five years ago. You learned how to trust, accept, love, and even be compassionate. So why do you keep showing you are cold and heartless."

"I don't know- I just miss being ruthless. I miss the feeling of people fearing me." He mumbled.

Kyle looked at him in a bit of disgust. "Then maybe you don't deserve to be a decent human being. Maybe you don't deserve Brooklyn. No. You don't deserve her."

"Kyle." I glared.

"She went all over town looking for your sorry ass, she made you comfortable and dispite everything she took you home. And you capitalized on her kindness." He said sounding physically disgusted. "People who want people to fear them are usually bullies and villains. And we always call those people pathetic. If you need to have people constantly fear you, you are pathetic. If he wanted to stay as a Hydra agent, he could have stayed. I don't know why he left."
