Her POV

There was a new character to the video. Her hair was in a messy braid. Her pale eyes shifted from side to side while she was looking up. Like she was following the movement of something. Her stomach was protruding outward. I have to guess she's pregnant. There was indistinct mumbling her face muscles changed from tense, to chill, to almost annoyed. She looked so familiar. The video suddenly paused and the woman's eyes were in mid blink.

I looked to my right and saw my Aunt holding the remote. She started wiping her eyes and smiling. "You know who she is?" I asked alarmed.

"Ella es tu madre." She mumbled speaking Spanish out of no where.

"I'm learning German..... not Spanish." I glared.

"Mother. That's your mother." My aunt choked a bit. "I forgot what she looked like. It's been so long. You are the spitting image. I'm not very observant am I?"

I stared at the woman for the longest time. No wonder she looked familiar. She looked like me. I touched my hair and my lips. "What's her name?" I whispered.

"Brooklyn Sader -Marshal." My aunt sniffled as my eyes glued to the screen in amazement.

I sat on the floor near the door while Kyle sat on the bed. He started looking around and then landed his head towards my direction. "Wanna see it?"

"See what?"

"It." He pointed to his side.

"Sure."

He lifted his shirt and there were stitches going across but it looked like it was healing fine. It still looked red but it wasn't bleeding at all. "I'm going to have a cool ass scar." He said. "My kid is going to ask 'where did you get that from' and I'll say 'my friend Marcus'."

"I don't understand. Why would you still want me in your life."

"Because it wasn't your fault. I know for a fact that you wouldn't go ahead and stab me out of the blue. Oh! Let me see your scar." Kyle tapped his shoulder.

"I didn't get one from you..."

"Yes you did..." Kyle said tapping his shoulder again. Why the fuck is he doing that. Kyle started laughing "I'm talking about the Hydra scar."

"Oh!" I said pulling off my shirt. I pointed to my shoulder and looked at Kyle. He was too busy looking at my other scars. That's usually what people tend to do.

"Did you go through a meat grinder? What the hell happened to you?"

"Hydra, and I was at the top. Imagine if I was doing REALLY bad."

"Imagine if I joined Hydra." Kyle said continuing to stare. "I'd be broken."

"My eyes are up here."

Kyle was reluctant but he eventually moved his eyes to the scar he gave me. "Jesus Christ." He said. "I did that?"

"Yeah. You pushed a knife through my shoulder and left it there." I used my opposite hand to touch the scar.

"Wow. It must be great to have revenge." Kyle skewed his lips.

"Why didn't you stay when I asked you to? Did you not like me? Sure Hydra was a shit hole but it was easy with a friend there."

Kyle stared at me without saying a word. I was kind of getting nervous. "You don't have-"

"I loved my father. As shitty as he was. I felt safest with him. He's was all I knew back then. The outside world was confusing to me,  shit made sense in there. Consistency."

"Hydra was unpredictable..." I sighed. "Still is."

"We were like ten and eleven back then. Ten and eleven year old kids trying to kill each other."

"How even old are we now?"

"13 years ago that happened.... How long have we been friends?"

"Well I got out of Hydra 5 years ago. So it had to be 3-4 years." I said thinking.

"To think we'd find each other." He smiled trailing off.

"Are you looking at my scars again?" I chuckled.

"Sorry. You are just covered in them."

"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger right?" I stood up to look at him. I put back on my shirt and smiled.

"Right." He said as I slowly helped him up."

"Thank you for not killing me. Alex." I struggled to get out. I was too busy silently giggling

"You are so wel- you bastard." Kyle punched my chest softly. I started to laugh harder and I followed him downstairs. Ari was laughing with Brooklyn. My heart stopped. The feeling of anxiousness hit me again. If Kyle wasn't the one to kill me. It would be Arizona.

"You survived." Brooklyn smiled.

"I guess you can say that." I glance towards then away from Ari. She looked at Kyle then at me. I closed my eyes knowing that would happen

I opened it back up to see them off but Ari stood infront of me.

Arizona has to be some where around like 5'3- 5'6 and I'm 6'3 and let me tell you, this girl looked and was intimidating. The way she looked up at me. The way her eyes bored holes through my face and into my skull. She raised up her hands and I flinched not knowing if I'm getting slapped, stabbed, or punched. She pulled me in for a hug.

"I'm- I'm so sorry for what I put you through Arizona. I don't" I said getting anxious and flustered. Why is it so easy to express what I feel.

"Shhhh hush hush." She said petting my back. Ari squeezed me even harder and tried to stand on her toes to reach up to me a little better. For a while no one said anything. I returned the hug a bit defeated. I choked back any sad feeling that would force me to cry.
--------------------

Kyle and Arizona left after a movie and realizing it got dark pretty fast. Which left the house alone with just Brooklyn and I

"Tomorrow you are going to talk to Riley..."

"No thank you. Riley is a stubborn kid. She's not going to listen."

"She's trying to be a better person actually. She cut her hair short and everything."

"What does that change?"

"She didn't say. But seemed much more relaxed."
