I frantically knocked on the door in front until the home owner opened it.
“Come on, come on, come on! I need you,” I quietly whispered to myself as I continued to knock. Suddenly I got some sign of life on the other side as I heard footsteps come towards the door followed by a bang and a line of curse words.
“Arghh fuck! This better be damn good,” Niall said as he threw the front door open, gripping his elbow. One look at me and quickly dropped his hand. “Abby? What’s wrong? You look like you’re on the verge of tears,” he stated as he pulled me inside.
“I…I—Niall I need a friend right now,” I told him as I tried to not let my tears fall. I followed him into the living room and took a seat on one of the couches and he sat across from me.
“Why? What happened?” Niall asked as he rubbed my arm, soothingly, up and down. I reached into my bag and pulled out a bag full of pregnancy tests and handed them to him.
“Just look at one, that answer will be the answer for the rest,” I told him as I looked at the ground. I heard him move the bag around, I’m assuming so he could read one, and then I heard the bag hit the ground. Not even a second later Niall was pulling me into a hug.
“Oh Abby, it’s goin’ to be okay, love,” Niall said as he rubbed my back and squeezed me to him while rocking us back and forth.
“I would say let’s go get a drink but you can’t,” he joked, trying to lighten the mood.
“I can’t do it, Niall,” I whimpered to him.
“I know you can’t drink, Abs. I was only kidding,” he said, playing dumb of course.
“No. I can’t be pregnant, Niall. I’m too young. Fuck! Harry’s too young,” I said to him as I pulled myself away from him.
“These things happen, Abby. Don’t beat yourself up about it.”
“I could have prevented this from happening! I suck at remembering to take my pill and shit I should have made Harry wear a condom every fucking time, no matter what! We’ve been going at it like rabbits lately,” I informed him and the look on his face showed he couldn’t care.
“Does Harry know?” Niall asked as I rested my head on his shoulder, I quickly shook my head. “You need to tell him, Abby.”
“I can’t do that,” I told him, pulling myself away from him with an incredulous look on my face.
“And why not, Abby?” Niall asked.
“He’s too young, Niall. He’s your bandmate in a globally successful boyband. He’s EIGHTEEN.”
“Then what are you going to do? Get an abortion? Skip town? What?” He asked, getting a little red in the face from frustration.
“I don’t know. I can’t tell him yet. I have everything with my parents coming up and I need him for that,” I said through the tears that had fallen. “I need him, Niall.”
“Just promise you’ll tell him afterwards, Abby,” Niall pleaded. “He deserves to know and he’ll help you decide on what you two need to do.”
“I promise I’ll tell him, I promise,” I said to him before pulling him into a hug and thanking him over and over again.
“Abby, love, is everything okay?” Harry asked as we walked up the steps to the courthouse.
“Yeah, I’ve just been distracted with everything that’s going on,” I lied to him. He held the door open for me and as I soon as I walked in I saw my mother sitting down to my left and my dad sitting down to my right. I took a deep breath and walked up to my dad who was waiting with open arms.
