I think I love you..
I think I love you…
I think I love you…
Those were the five words Harry said to me before he ran back onstage to finish the show. Those five words managed throw me off track, those five words managed to haunt me for the remainder of the show. Harry just said he loved me, and we’d barely been dating. Did I love him back? During the rest of the concert I thought back on all the memories I’ve had with the curly headed boy, all of them good-- only a few bad and I remembered all the times he made butterflies erupt in my stomach, made my cheeks hurt from smiling and made my stomach hurt from laughing. I can’t ever be mad at him because of how happy he makes me and I don’t ever want that feeling to go away. The fact that I could be myself around him just makes our relationship all the more better and the fact that I opened up to him so easily about my past, accepted him so easily, that just proved I trusted him, the things Harry got me to do, not even past boyfriends could get me to do. That’s it I love Harry freakin’ Styles. That alone scares me, last time I thought I loved someone they ended up cheating on me and we had been in a relationship for a very long time, I just couldn’t stand the possibility of that happening again. I didn’t know anything about Harry’s past relationships besides what I knew about him and Caroline, we just never thought to talk about our past love lives, because we live in the moment. I don’t want to get in too deep just for us to fall apart, I don’t think I’d be able to stand losing Harry because he’s just one of the greatest things to ever happen to me. Harry is home for me.
At this very moment Harry and I were sat in one of the other dressing rooms because I told him I needed to talk to him in private about what he told me earlier. This was it, I was going to tell Harry I felt the same way and it was going to change our relationship for the better.
“About what you said earlier on,” I started off and there was a look of pain on Harry’s face and I hated seeing him like that. “I thought a lot about what you said, like I really thought it out. I paid no attention to the rest of your show because I was thinking about what you said.”
“Abby, just spit it out please. You’re scaring me,” Harry pleaded to me while staring into my eyes.
“Harry you make me feel at home with myself, that’s all I’ve ever wanted. All I’ve ever been searching for with all the traveling around I’ve done is looking for home, home isn’t a place for me, Harry. Home is a person and you’re that person. Nobody has been able to get me like you do, or make me feel the way you make me feel, you make me feel on top of the world all while making me feel like a kid again. What I’m trying to say Harry is I love you too,” I told him as a smile took over my face and I watched as his smile grew on his face. He pulled me into him and crashed his lips onto mine, in a passion filled kiss that made me feel light headed.
“You have no idea how happy that makes me,” Harry whispered against my lips, and I couldn’t help but smile.
“You make me happy,” I mumbled back to him as I kept my eyes closed, reveling in this moment.
“What do you say you let me get changed and we get out of here?” Harry said once he pulled away, I opened my eyes and looked into his emerald orbs. I nodded my hand and Harry stood up, pulling me up after him and led me down the hall to their dressing room where he changed. We walked hand in hand back to the bus, where we would gather our bags and head to the hotel we would be staying in tonight.
“Were you nervous about my response?” I asked him as we walked out of the back doors of the venue.
“Very nervous,” He said while looking back at me.
“Why?” I asked him, trying to walk faster so I could walk beside him instead of behind him.
“I thought you weren’t going to say it back and I just felt like I rushed it,” Harry said as he gave my hand a reassuring squeeze.
“I’m scared.”
“Of what?” Harry asked, with confusion.
“Loving you,” I, truthfully, told him. He looked down at me and before I pulled the door open to step on the bus Harry pulled me around the side of it.
“Why are you scared of loving me?” Harry said, searching my face for any sign that could tell him why.
“Last time I told someone I loved them they cheated on me and I got hurt in the end, I don’t want it to happen again,” I weakly said to Harry while looking down at my combat boots. I felt Harry shift, then he used his index finger and middle finger to lift my head so I was looking at him.
“I’m not going to hurt you. Abby, I’ve only loved two other girls and those girls are my mum and my sister. Never have I told a girl I’ve been in a relationship with I loved them, but here I am telling you I love you because I do. You aren’t the only one that’s scared, I’m scared as well because I can’t go through losing you. You make me feel like the luckiest guy on the planet when I’m with you and that’s a feeling I never want to experience living without,” Harry said while tucking a piece of my hair behind my ear. I reached up and rested my hand on his cheek and pulled him closer to me, where we were only centimeters apart.
“You make me feel like the luckiest girl to ever walk on Earth,” I whispered and I felt him smile before placing his lips on mine in a sweet kiss.
“Good, now come on. Let’s get on the bus so we can get to the hotel and I can love on you,” Harry, childishly, said while dragging me onto the bus.
“What makes you think I’m going to let you love on me?” I teased him while we both climbed in his bunk.
“Oh please, love. We both just took a ginormous step into our relationship and you aren’t going to let me make you feel good? Are you on crack?” Harry countered as he twirled my hair around his finger.
“Yeah, maybe I just want to cuddle with you, play with your hair and talk about my feelings?” I joked back to him, waiting for his reaction.
“Oh my gosh, you are such a girl! I am NOT doing that,” Harry said as his laughter rumbled through my ear that was resting against his chest. I couldn’t help but giggle at his response.
“I know, I’m just kidding,” I told him while I playfully smacked his chest.
“Hey Abby?” I heard Harry say after a few minutes of silence, while he played with my hair.
“Yeah?”
“I love you,” Harry said and I smiled, it was nice hearing him say that.
“Hey Harry?”
“Yeah?” Harry responded as he kissed my head.
“I love you too.”
