"So do we do? Do we just walk in?"

"No. Their's a very good chance they're all hostile."

"So...sneak in?"

"Sneak in."

Leon took the lead, heading down a beaten path leading behind one of the tall wood board houses. The villagers continued their business, shoveling hay from the piles into large wagons, fetching water from the well, throwing bits of dead wood and thick branches into the bonfire roasting an officer inside, Completely unaware of two armed people sneaking into their town. You stood by Leon's side, watching him as he looked over the corner to keep an eye on the villagers. "Leon? What exactly are we looking for here?"

"Evidence on Ashley's whereabouts." He kept his voice hushed, keeping an eye on the people while he spoke to you. You held onto your gun, looking the other direction in case anyone showed up behind you. "Where do you think they keep evidence? This place is really behind on its years y'know. Doubt they have computers in this little community."

"They should keep it in books or something, papers? I'm not sure." Leon looked back at you, questioning himself where they would find out if Ashley was here or not. "I bet it's in a different language, I don't speak Spanish." You sighed a little, slightly wishing you knew what these people were saying. What insults they threw at you so you could kick their asses with much more reason.

"Let's keep moving." Leon looked around the corner one more time and ran behind another house, waving you over when their was no one looking. Before you ran for it, a muddy hand clamped around your mouth, pulling you back with a strong grip. Cold rusted steel touched your throat, digging in a little bit into your skin. Your eyes widened and you let out a cry, muffled by the hand. A woman held you tightly, a kitchen knife against your throat as she began to scream in her language to the others.

You used one free hand to grab ahold of her wrist, using your entire body strength to bash the woman against the house wall behind you. Your other hand grabbed ahold of the knife strapped to your thigh, aiming back as best as you could to shove the blade right into her head. She let out a hoarse scream of agony and surprise, her grip on you tightening and lessening every few seconds from the pain. You pulled out the knife and pushed her off of you, watching her fall limp to the ground.

You looked over at Leon quickly, seeing him getting tackled by a man unusually taller than him. He had a hold on both of the man's wrists to get him away, but the strength varied between the two. "Leon!" You grabbed your gun, aiming at the man's head the best you could. "Get down!" You fired, getting the perfect aim to shoot the man, getting his nose completely busted. The man stumbled backwards, falling flat on his back. Then something strange happened. His dark blood started to bubble up, the skin on his face breaking apart like rice paper in water. His entire body even began to dissolve, making sickly bubbling sounds followed by lots of steaming. Leon stepped back, watching the man's corpse reduce to nothing but a dark paste in the ground, forming a mudlike substance.

"That didn't just happen Leon." You shook your head, stepping away from the scene, immediately tripping over the woman's corpse, discovering it also experiencing the same dissolving process. You returned to Leon's side, your heart racing and your mind confused. "Dead bodies aren't supposed to do that!"

"I know, something isn't right here."
"Obviously!"

"¡Mátalos!" A man shouted, grabbing both of your attentions. A rather large crowd of people began to run towards you, maybe all the citizens, all carrying any sort of weapon they had available. Kitchen knives, axes, sickles, pitchforks, you name it.

"Leon???" You stepped back, seeing them get closer. "Run!" He grabbed ahold of your hand, running ahead around a house and into the center of the village. The people quickly noticed this and changed their direction, heading straight towards the two of you. You quickly reloaded and began to fire, the long range making it almost impossible to shoot at their heads with a handgun.
