"Keep running!"

Leon had a tight hold on your forearm, running ahead through the doors that led straight back into the village.

New people had gathered around in the area, immediately heading straight towards us with weapons raised, causing a huge commotion. It took all you had to run through the growing crowds, dodging each hand and sharp object that headed to your direction. Leon stopped at the door to the church, carrying the same moth-like insignia on it. He tried to open the door but it wouldn't budge, making him slam his fist on the door with anger.

You began to shoot at the closest villagers, making sure they kept a good distance between you and them. "What's wrong??" You called back to him, hearing his frustration. "The door's locked!"

"Use the key!"

Leon took a moment to grab the key from his pocket and open the door, pushing it open with extra force from his shoulder. "Hurry!" He called out to you. You reloaded fast, turning around quickly and running inside. Leon closed the door behind you, the loud shouts muffled by the door. A few seconds of silence was after that, you expected them to pound on the door, but this was their church, right? They wouldn't disrespect it.

When you turned around, a bit of surprise went through your mind. The room you entered was small, containing a small table with three small chairs. Piles of bags and boxes littered the corner, all dusty and untouched. "This is..a church, right?"

"Apparently. Their should be a secret passageway in here." Leon walked to the next door, opening it and looking inside. "Yeah, its right here." You walked inside, seeing him crouched down right in front of the wooden trapdoor in the dirt. "Great, I was starting to lose hope." You kneeled down beside him, grabbing onto the rope handle and pulling it hard, opening it to reveal a lit tunnel with a stone built path. "Ladies first." Leon looked at you.

You rolled your eyes, grabbing onto the edge of the hole and jumped down, landing on the ground surprisingly well. You stood up, noticing the candles placed within the cracks of the cave tunnel, lighting the way dimly. Leon jumped down next to you, looking ahead in the same direction.

"Gentlemen lead the ladies." You looked at him with a smirk, seeing his face expressions change to a smile. He let out a chuckle, glaring at you from the corner of his eye. "Okay okay, I get it." You smiled, watching him walk ahead. The tunnel continued down quite a long ways, a few candles appearing once in a while. At the end, a rusty ladder led to the surface, leading somewhere promising.

At the top, the skies seemed much darker. Maybe they were promising rain, or night was appearing soon. Leon continued ahead, the small path leading up to a rather large destination. "Think this is it." He stopped, looking ahead.

A large stone building sat at the top of the hill, surrounded by cracked and ruined gravestones. A thin layer of fog began to form, adding onto the cryptic aura the whole area gave off. "Hopefully she's inside." You turned to Leon. "Should we inform Hunnigan?"

"No, not yet. We need to get to Ashley first, then we'll inform her."

"Ditto." You looked towards the path and continued to head up, avoiding the gravestones that littered the grassy area. The large gates leading to the church building were wide open, and just when things seem to be promising, a few villagers were standing at the church doors, axes and scythes in hand.

It just occurred to me I'm spilling blood on their holy ground....
Oh well.

You fired at the first man, shooting his shoulder to disarm him. You fired again at a second man, shooting him right in the eyes. As you expected, the man covered his eyes with a scream, frantically waving around his ax and killing the closest ones near him. It saved you the trouble and bullets to take them all out. Leon finally fired again at the man after he took out the others around him, the second bullet causing his head to explode, with the body falling limp to the grass.
