You approached Leon, Ashley following right behind you. He regrouped with you right in front of the remains of the door, a ghost of a smile still visible on his face.
"Care to explain?" You motioned your head towards the remains of the wood door and bits of stone that were caught in the blast. He gave you a shrug, "Thought it would be cool." You giggled a bit. "Got to admit, it was pretty badass."
"Uhuh." Ashley nodded, she didn't say much, but the look on her face showed she was impressed by the canon.
"Let's keep going. This has to lead to the inside." Leon walked past the rubble, walking towards a red metal door up ahead. You followed, mindful of your steps along the way.
As soon as you entered inside, the radio beeped. The sound began to annoy you every time Hunnigan called, yet their was nothing you could do about it.
"Leon. Where's your current location?"
"We decided to lay low in a castle, but it looks like it was a bad move." He responded, crossing his arms.
"Meaning?"
This time, you spoke: "It seems like this castle's inhabitants are also tied to those Los Illuminados people, we've had a few close calls already..in a span of about ten minutes."
Leon slightly huffed. "That's putting it a little lightly, don't you think? They're giving us one hell of a welcome."
"You got that right."
"Sounds bad. I have an idea you two. I need you to-"
Static began to cut out her next words, playing nothing but blank noise. "What? Hunnigan?" You said, your body getting tense from the interruption. "Hunnigan???"
"Repeat Hunnigan, we can't make out what you're saying." Leon checked the radio, but nothing came out of the signal.
"Great. Just my luck." Leon put the radio away with a small sigh, reaching for his gun. "Now what? Where do we go from here Leon?" You switched your sniper for your handgun, reloading it.
He looked around at the area you were in, it was a small room with a large stone staircase. The room was lit with decorative candle stands in the corners of the room, lighting up the decor hanging on the walls. "I guess we keep going. Worth a look around."
You looked around, seeing nothing of use. You headed up the stairs first, looking around carefully for any sign of a door leading somewhere new. The upstairs looked like a dining room, a large table with plenty of wooden chairs. Plates and silver cups were placed neatly on the surface, waiting for people to occupy their seats for a meal.
"Their's a door over here." You walked ahead, going towards the red door and opening it. Leon and Ashley followed your lead, heading right behind you. You found yourself outside, walking along some sort of stone balcony path. You looked up, seeing the large castle walls almost stretch towards the skies. "The moon's out." You whispered to yourself, seeing the illuminating planet peek out through the dark clouds of the night.
"Leon!" A familiar man's voice stopped all three of you from walking.
"Luis?" Leon responded first, turning around to find the well dressed man chasing after you.
He stopped, staring at all of you with his signature welcoming greeting smile. You found yourself smiling back, happy to see a familiar face among the killing freaks you've faced so far.
"I've got something for you guys," he began, his hands going towards his pockets. His smile disappeared, his hands patting all parts of his pockets for the missing item. "Oh shit!" Luis looked back the way he came from. "I must've dropped it when I was running away from them!"
