It's been a while since Leon left off to the warehouse, leaving you and Ashley behind in heavy silence.

You found yourself looking towards the door just in case he was about to open it. Your mind started to play tricks on you, making every little sound you hear wonder if it was Leon close by.

You wish you had a watch with you, or something to track the time. It was killing you inside, gnawing at your heart and gripping tightly onto your lungs, making you hold your breath at some points. Ashley remained quiet, keeping to herself while she layed down on the next bench, relaxing in the warmth of Leon's jacket. The rain had long past, the cool winds warming up slightly. But that didn't mean it wasn't warm in the small building.

"Is he back yet?" Ashley asked, for the seventh time.

You looked down at the sniper in your hands, your fingers messing with the trigger a little bit. You bit your bottom lip rather hard, losing tracks of the minutes that passed. "I'll go check." You decided, standing up from the bench and heading towards the door. "Wait!" She sat up fast. "I'm going with you."

You looked at her, motioning with your head to hurry. She got up and got to your side, following you out the door.

You trailed back up the dirt path you took the first time, keeping a tight grip on the sniper while walking towards the lift site. The carts were still properly functioning, but their was no sign of Leon anywhere.

"Wait...(Y/N), look!" Ashley pointed ahead in the distance. You looked out at the distance, squinting your eyes slightly. All you saw was the other cliffside, and dark clouds from the aftermath of the storm. "What?"

"It's smoke!"

Your heart stopped beating for a second. "Smoke???" You looked through the scope of the sniper, getting a closer look. You used your finger to twist the scope knob, getting a closer look. Ashley was right, the dark puffs of smoke were coming from an unknown source, yet when the smoke clouds reached the skies, it was difficult to make out from afar.

"Shit." You looked around, unable to find what was burning. "Do you see Leon anywhere?" Ashley spoke, her voice emitting the fear you felt in your chest. "I'm looking." You looked everywhere, even on the lift carts that were returning. "No, I don't see him anywhere." You lowered the rifle, looking out in the distance.

"What do we do now??"

"I don't know, Leon told us to stay." You looked at her, the worry shared on both of your faces. Ashley seemed terrified, looking out at the carts for any sign of him. You looked again through the scope, looking towards the lift platforms for any sign of the man. A figure appeared on one of the platforms, but it was too dark to make out if it was Leon or an enemy.

You kept your finger on the trigger, narrowing your eyes slightly to keep a clear sight on the figure.

"Don't say anything Ashley." You spoke, making sure she heard you loud and clear. You needed to focus.

The closer the lift got, the more clear the figure seemed to be. Once you recognized him, you noticed he was holding his binoculars to his face.

He was watching you the entire time you were aiming a sniper at him.

You lowered your gun, a giggle escaping your lips. "That's him." You said, earning a sigh of relief from Ashley.

Finally, his cart stopped for a moment and he stepped off, walking over towards the both of you. "I was surprised you didn't go after me." He began to speak.

Before you could respond, Ashley beat you to it. "We were about to! What happened over there??? We saw smoke and we were worried sick!!"

Leon had a feign surprised expression, he placed a hand on his chest. "You two were worried about me?"
