You felt your body impact some strange cushiony blobs of sort, crinkling and crunching under your weight. It felt sloped, forcing your body to roll downwards onto the sticky concrete pavement.

You stopped with your face upwards, making you open your eyes towards a roofless surface, the abyss above dark and sinister.

Oh right. I fell from there.

"I knew you'd be fine if you landed on your butt." Leon's voice rang in your ears, recalling that it was his fault you fell through the garbage disposal.

"Idiot," you whispered under your breath, pushing yourself off the ground. You saw Leon doing the same, pulling Ashley out from the mess with haste.

"You okay?" He turned towards you, receiving a nod from you and nothing else.

You took a look at your surroundings, seeing the entire place less messier than you expected, hense the smell of course. There happened to be lots of gated doors in your path, the levers right by the side. It was the sound of the all well known ragged breathing that made you reach for the rifle, growing more annoyed at the things than terrified.

"Ashley, if things get heated hide in the nearest containers you see, got it?"

"Okay Leon."

"(Y/N), over there." Leon directed you towards a Regenerator, standing mindlessly behind a bar wall. Little spikes decorated the ugly skin, looking shiny like silver from far away. "Are those the spikes??"

"Yep. Thankfully he's on the other side, just be careful, I think some literally shoot out like darts."

"Wonderful," you aimed your rifle towards the beast, locking eye on the parasites immediately. You fired at the first one, letting out a startled gasp once the spikes bursted out from its skin from the leech's death. Ashley let out a surprised yelp, getting behind Leon from the scene, still managing to peer over his shoulder.

You aimed again, shooting at the other two you spotted, waiting for the explosion of blood and perhaps spikes everywhere. However, nothing happened.

"What?? It's still alive??" You lowered your rifle, tilting your head. "Check again." Ashley insisted, making you bring the scope over again.
You saw no flash of the red hot blobs on it's cold body, making you question if the thing didn't actually need the leeches to survive, or if the scope was faulted.

"Here, let me try something." Leon took the sniper in his hands, aiming towards the head before quickly firing. The body fell towards the floor, unmoving for the moment. Leon walked closer, your mouth opening in protest as you spotted the Regenerator's fingers move.

"Found you." Leon whispered, firing at the hidden leech on its back. The body bursted, spikes flying out at random places. Thankfully, none hit Leon's body, or yours and Ashley's.

Leon walked towards the door, pulling on the lever to open it, allowing the two of you to go through. You grabbed Leon's shotgun for the moment as a replacement, keeping an eye out for any Ganados or other surprise attackers.

Up ahead was a large steel crate blocking your path over a small bridge of rushing dirty waters. You and Leon took the pleasure in pushing the crate over the edge, creating a quick makeshift bridge for the three of you to cross over before the waters rushed it away.

No going back now.

At a few more turns from walls made out of garbage and scrap metal gave away to an opening in a broken wall, leading into a massive room with a familiar looking hole in the ground, piping hot with boiling lava. Up above was a large steel wrecking ball, hanging on a thick rusty chain. "What the hell kind of garbage dump place is this?" You looked towards Leon, seeing him step into what looked like a control room for the wrecking ball.
