"Oh great, another door."

You examined the large door in front of you. The entire door was made of stone and metal, in the center rested a large Lion's head, its mouth wide open in a spherical shape. It was missing something, due to the indentations.

"Another puzzle?" Leon guessed, staring at the door.

"Mhm." You frowned, letting out a heavy sigh. "So, where to now?"

"We need to look for another way in." Leon looked around the area. "Wanna stick together or split up?"

"Well, since you asked so nicely." You stuck your tongue out at him, making him chuckle. "It seems safe at the moment, let's split up and look for any other doors. Yell when you find something."

"Copy." He nodded, taking his side of the area, leaving you to your own. You took a closer walk around the bonfire, the smell of burning wood followed by the radiating heat on your skin made you feel cozy, like sitting in front of a fireplace. You almost wished you were back at your apartment, sitting in your living room with a hot cup of tea.

You gazed down at the dark masses of human remains on the floor, squinting your eyes for any sign of round objects for the door.

"Hey! Over here!" You heard Leon's cry, making you look up to see him waving at you. You quickly approached the small shack Leon was in, seeing him stand right next to a large lever. "There's an entrance right there." He pointed to the strange hole in the ground, revealing a ladder leading down into a candlelit area.

"Good work." You kneeled down and looked below. The area was lit up by plenty of candles, the structures appeared old however, looking like it would collapse at the right moment. "Here we go again." You spoke, lowering yourself down the ladder.

The room was large by the time you got on the solid ground. What first put you off was the earthy, dry smell. It tickled your nose, making you sneeze into your elbow.

"Not great with dust?" Leon asked, getting off the ladder and taking a few steps forward. "I'm not. Never been in an earthy..underground temple before."

Since you were actually underground, you had a better look at your surroundings. The structure reminded you of an Egyptian temple, although you could be wrong. This could be an Aztec thing, I need to study my history a bit better.

"Look at this." Leon approached a large pillar in the center of the room, well lit by the surrounding candles. It contained strange words followed by mini pictures, like some sort of hieroglyph language. The language appeared to be Spanish, once again that's where the language block hit you in the face. "What's it say Leon?"

He stared at the pillar for a long moment, reading over the words in his mind. "It says," he tilted his head slightly. "I'm not...particularly correct, but it speaks of an offering to a lion."

"I'm guessing the key to The lion door?" You guessed.

He looked ahead towards the only hallway, dimly lit by candles placed in the rocky cracks. "Hope so."

"Let's go find that key." You walked around the pillar, gun in hand while making your way down the hallway.

The two of you entered into a very large area, almost the size of the first grand hall you entered in through the castle. Lots of old stone ruins were laying around, making the area appear like a maze of a lost city. Leon stopped in his tracks, gently putting a hand on your shoulder to stop you. With his fingers he motioned ahead at the Ganados waiting with large torches and axes, standing nearby some set up bear traps.

They were expecting you. Or at least, some unwelcome intruder.

"How do we do this?" You whispered to him. He took a good, long look at the area. He spotted something up top, quickly recognizing the faint smoke and familiar potato sack material over their head. "Still have the sniper?" He replied quietly. You nodded.
