The sounds of gears broke through the comfortable silence between you and Ashley. You got up fast and stepped out of the railroad cart, running back down the corridor while Ashley stayed behind.
You spotted Leon stepping off the small platform, quickly catching your eye once you ran up to him. "Thank god you're alright!" You smiled, looking him up and down for any sign of injuries. Thankfully he didn't have any visible ones at the moment, he didn't seem to look like he was in any pain either. He looked a bit stressed, his face slightly flushed from the heat, but other than that he stared at your studying gaze with a small smile.
"Got the third tablet." He showed you the rather warm tablet in his free hand, the carving depicted a Lion's head. You nodded, taking the stone with both your hands. "Perfect, now we can leave this place." You turned around, walking back where you came from. "Come on, their's a rail cart that'll take us somewhere. Hopefully back where we started."
You led the way, bringing Leon back to the railcart seats where Ashley waited patiently. She spotted Leon behind you and smiled, which you quickly took note of mentally. You placed the tablet into the small pile next to Ashley with the others and took your seat, Leon sitting next to you.
Once the small cart door closed, the cart began to move down the railroad. It slightly surprised you, because it didn't do that when you and Ashley first sat down. Leon relaxed a bit, sitting back as the winds cooled his burning hot skin. You found yourself resting your head on his shoulder, the winds blowing against your back and hair, but you payed no mind to it. It felt refreshing.
"What happened in there?" You asked, raising your voice slightly so Leon could hear.
"The room was full of lava, with dragon statues breathing fire down at me."
You glared at him, putting on a question disbelief face that clearly said 'What the fuck?'
He knew that look, he only continued staring at you, his facial expressions never changing. "I'm not kidding, Literal dragons statues, they were being controlled to shoot fire at me."
"You make it sound so unreal, I should've gone with you." You muttered, looking away from his gaze and down to the floor. "Their was no need (Y/N), I'm right here and I'm fine." He tried to convince you the best he could, hoping to see that worried expression gone from your face. You gave him a slightly fake smile, hoping it'll calm his nerves at least. This mission's dangerous enough, and it keeps getting worse and worse. The last thing I want is to lose him to these damn people.
The rail cart finally stopped, shaking slightly once it hit the brake built in the rail track. The three of you stepped out and trough the large door, quickly becoming aware of the familiar tiles and decorations. The stone mural was just up ahead, awaiting the proper tablets to fulfill the indentations.
"Ashley, hand me the tablets please." You told her, watching as she handed over the three heavy stones into your hands. Leon grabbed the first piece, the Lion's head, and leaned up to snap the piece into place. You gave him the second tablet, which was the goat's head, while you stepped over and placed the last tails piece to the wall, both of you stepping back as soon as a rumble began to shake the ground.
The wall began to sink back into the ground, connecting back into the floor to reveal the path behind it. A large set of stairs led up to large double doors, the area lit up by two basin torch stands. "These people really know how to decorate their castles." You walked forward, stepping up the small stair steps. You pushed open the large door, hearing cricket noises on the other side. The room was dark, only lit up by moonlight from the open exposed windows.
Another railroad cart waited up ahead, showing a dark yet promising tunnel to head down. You slowly approached the cart, your eyes captivated by the view outside.
