The two of you headed outside after finding a large ladder that led upwards out of the caves.

Once you were greeted with cool air and dark, gloomy skies, you never felt so happy to be outside for once. Although it was rather chilly, you were greatful for the rushing winds to soothe your sweaty skin, for now at least.

Leon walked head of you, taking your rifle from the back of your harness. You approached him, about to question his actions with the rifle.

That was, until he fired.

Down below, a makeshift campsite took place. Lots of Ganado men stood around a large bonfire, speaking in their native tongues. In an ironic twist, they seemed to have placed red barrels full of fuel at the end of their tents, yet eerily close. It was no question why Leon fired, causing the massive explosion which ended in bits of burned body parts falling in random places on the ground, skin charting before fizzling.

You pressed onwards, getting the rifle back and attaching a new clip. The thermal scope actually came in very handy, helping you detect Ganados or an strange sort of life around the area.

After some quick wandering, you discovered a large ladder inside the biggest tent, leading down towards what looked like an Underground Railroad. At this point, as you stepped down the end of the ladder, you were exhausted with this mission. You were tired, and terribly sore. You just wanted to get Ashley, kill Saddler, and go home.

But you know, once you were unwillingly signed up into this mess, that this is what you'd have to deal with for the rest of your life.

"What's this?" Leon whispered, grabbing your attention as he picked up a piece of paper on an old table next to a broken down train cart.

"What does it say?" You asked.

"Hm, it's Krauser's handwriting."

"Krauser?" You feigned surprise, knowing Leon would grow suspicious if he knew you had spoken to him before. "Yeah, he's alive. He kidnapped Ashley and brought her here."

"No shit," you looked over at the note, reading bits and pieces of what you could make out.

After I get rid of Leon and retrieve the sample, I'll put her in a body bag along with Leon and send them both to Wesker.

Her?
Must mean me. Or Ada. Or another person secretly involved. Who knows.

"C'mon, we gotta hurry." Leon abandoned the note, walking ahead without a word, leaving you to follow him up the nearest ladder in silence.

Thunder from the skies made your skin tingle, making you think that for a moment, you could sense the static in the air. Perhaps it was just your imagination running wild, or that Queen parasite is waking up in your body. You didn't know.

You were greeted with stone carved doors, its structure reminding you of the Aztec looking ruins you were once in underground a while back.

You entered through the door, seeing that upon closer inspection, it looked like an old chapel, weathered down by either warfare or Mother Nature. Most of its walls and structures were missing, but the torches were still well lit, showing it was still occupied by various guests.

Walking through the stone remains made you feel a sense of calm, relaxing your mood for merely a moment. With your apparel, you couldn't help but distract your mind on what this place looked like before it was torn down. A Palace? A grand Citadel baring royalty? Perhaps you could've roleplayed as a Princess, walking down the grand hallways to meet her Prince Charming, to see if he had arrived.
