Leon slowly rose from the ground, looking down at Luis's body with a blank expression, his eyes full of anger and sorrow, his shoulders stiff with tension. You got on your feet, wiping away your tears with the sleeve of your shirt. You turned away and walked towards the shotgun you abandoned on the ground, biting onto your lip hard to prevent any angry cries you desperately wanted to release.
You've seen many people die in front of you. Most of them you never knew, those you wished you could understand better. Those who deserved to be killed, those who didn't deserve to be killed. It was all different, and it weighed down in the back of your mind like a heavy cracked stone wall. Luis added onto the weight, adding an extra stone to the dam you've rebuilt over and over, holding in the breaking point where at one point, you wanted it all to be over.
"They're gonna die." You choked out, covering your mouth with the back of your blood stained hand.
"Every single one of them." Leon spoke, turning away from Luis's body. "His death won't be in vain (Y/N)."
You sniffed, wiping away the rest of the stray droplets while clearing your throat. You had to be strong, showing signs of weakness leaves you vulnerable to the enemy, at least that's what Wesker taught you. Who knows, those sick bastards could be taking joy in your tears right now.

"HELP!!!!!" Ashley screamed, making you confused and alert. You thought Ashley was with Leon, but you neglected to notice her before Luis was killed.
Leon ran over towards the broken railed balcony, looking for the source of her scream. Ashley was up against a wall, held secure by three large bars. She struggled against the restraints, calling out to anyone nearby. She looked up and caught sight of you, fighting against the restraints some more. "Guys!! Get me out of here!!"
"How the hell did that happen???" You looked at Leon.
"After we got separated with you Ashley fell into one of Salazar's traps." Leon took out his sniper, which was actually your sniper, and aimed down to where Ashley was.
His action started to terrify Ashley, it was clear from the panic growing in her widening eyes. "L-Leon what are you doing?!?" She panicked, seeing the laser of the rifle getting closer to her.
"Hold still!" He yelled.
She let out a scream, the bullet ricocheting off the first steel bar holding her captive. The metal broke off, retracting back into their slots in the wall by her body. She opened her tightly shut eyes, panting hard to see Leon fire at the second set of bars holding her, causing her to scream again with eyes shut.
You wanted to yell at her to shut up so badly, her shrill screams were enough to alert every enemy in the castle. As soon as Leon fired the third bullet on the last steel restraint, her screams ceased. She pushed off the wall, stepping forward while recatching her breath in heavy pants.
"Talk about near death experience." She looked up at the two of you, hands on her hips with a faint smile.
Doors hidden in the walls nearby began to open, the faint yet familiar foreign chanting started to echo in the room as black robed figures began to enter the room, hands extended, their eyes set on Ashley.
"Ashley! Get outta there!" Leon shouted in alarm. Ashley stepped back from the men gathering too close for her liking, too frightened to head anywhere else. "Leon, we have to get down there!" You aimed your shotgun at the first man getting close, firing towards his head or any area closest to his chest.
