The first gunshot rang in your ears, making them sting with pain. You let out a hiss, seeing an explosion of blood above from the blur of the drill blades drawing closer.

Leon aimed again, trying to keep the scope set on the second man driving, but the iron blades kept getting in the way, making his aim difficult. He fired again, the bullet lodging through the driver's shoulder, getting his hands off the wheel, stopping the drill from approaching. He fired again, getting a much cleaner shot through the skull.

As if on que, the gate door slid open behind you. Leon reached over quickly and pulled you and Ashley out of the hallway, both of you shocked and exhaling shaking pants.

"Are you two alright??" He asked, looking between you and Ashley. You nodded fast, panting while you waited for the faint ringing in your ears to settle. Ashley was hugging herself, her hands slightly shaking from the quick close to death encounters. "C'mon, we have to keep moving." You spoke, grabbing your gun while you were able to hear again.

Ashley continued to follow behind Leon, her hands still around her body. She kept her head down low and silent, her shoulders slightly trembling. She's just scared, we're all scared in our own ways.

The path continued down through a door that led right back into the room full of pictures where the three of you first entered. A new hallway you failed to miss was up ahead, one that was dark and only lit up by the moonlight coming in through the small open windows. A four seated table rested in the center of the room, a small stack of papers laying on the left corner edge.

You approached the table, resting your gun on the side as you picked up the first white piece of paper you spotted in English writing. Looks recent.

You continued to read silently, leaning against the table when you felt you needed support, the heavy weight returning on your chest. "What's it say?" Leon asked, curious about your changing expressions.

You cleared your throat, swallowing the small lump that formed. "It um..It's talking about Luis."

Leon's face drained of emotion, appearing distant and cold. "What does it say?" His slightly lowered voice spoke.

"It said that..well, it said Luis had been taken care of by Lord Saddler, now they can rejoice knowing the sample is back in their possession." You watched Leon slightly pace around a bit, keeping near the windows where the moonlight shined on him. The light changed his hair to silver, his skin lightening up to resemble polished quartz, his dark angry eyes glowing like quicksilver pools, filling with rage and sorrow.

Being with Leon for as long as you have, you've understood that for others it was difficult to tell what Leon was experiencing, how he was feeling specifically. He's the kind of guy to joke at the worst times, playing off words while others saw chaos and fear, baring a mask of nothing. But their was one thing you learned, which lead to only you and Sherry knowing how Leon truly felt. His eyes.

Many say their windows to the soul, they hold the true emotions that the most stubborn being could not physically express. Right now, in Leon's shining eyes you watched anger grow into a flame, sorrow becoming the wood to fuel it.

"What else does it say?" He muttered, looking out one of the windows.

You put the note down and looked at the other papers on the desk, seeing one of Luis caught at from a far distance, sample and pills in hand. "They're protecting the sample at the moment. Their goal right now is...well, you know." You crossed your arms, letting out a small lost sigh. "I don't understand this anymore." You whispered to yourself, looking out at nothing.

"It doesn't matter if we understand or not, we have to keep going." Leon turned around and headed towards the door. He stopped in his steps, his hand against the door preparing to open it. "We need to avenge our friend for what they did. We're gonna kill Saddler and get the hell out of here."
