The Plans

It's finally official! Tayo na.

I finally said yes. Actually, you said yes but after I said yes because technically, wearing the necklace you gave me was my yes to you.

Ewan. Ang gulo. Basta. Tayo na. Yun ang mahalaga.

After over two years of knowing each other on screen, twenty months of actually spending time together, getting to know each other, developing a very solid friendship and eventually romantic love, weeks and weeks of courtship, a complicated relationship, numerous complaints from readers and the author losing her EQ and running out of reasons to justify why we're still not in a relationship when we're obviously so into each other, we're finally here.

Anyway, tayo na nga.

It wasn't how I imagined it to happen. I planned to invite you for dinner over at my place. I was to cook for you of course then bake cupcakes where I would write the letters Y-E-S on top which I would have shown you after we ate, had a few sips of wine as we watched the stars from the balcony.

I would have asked, "RJ, remember when you gave me that necklace?"

Then you would have answered. "Yes." Then you would have looked into my eyes and held my hand as you ask. "Maine, handa ka na bang buksan ang puso ko at tanggapin ang pagmamahal na bubuhos mula dito? Will you be my girlfriend?"

Cheesy, I know, but romantic and you know I swoon for the cheesy and romantic plus it's you. You could have said anything and I'd swoon anyway.

Okay. So after that I would have shown you the necklace and while you would have been still in shock, I would have brought out the box of cupcakes beside me and opened it. You would have seen it and then we would have kissed under the stars.

That was the plan but just the same, the spontaneous, emotional and raw confrontation and profession was even more perfect.

You and I. Together. That's perfect.

Plus that sneaky makeout session to celebrate was so hot.

Sooo... What now? Where do we go from here?

We could make plans but we both know that with us, the spontaneity is magical.

I know the future is uncertain. I know we will go through a whole lot more, good and bad. I know we will have arguments. I know there will be a lot of adjustments for both of us. I know this whole journey could be scary.

But...

I love you, Richard Faulkerson Jr. I know you love me too and I know you meant it when you said you will always take care of me.

And I that's enough reason for me to not be afraid anymore.

So when you held your hand out that day as we stepped out of that room, I placed my hand in it with complete faith in you and me. I knew then that this journey of love we will be taking together will go on for a hundred lifetimes.

I am ready to go on another magical journey with you. ❤️
