Not Okay 1

April 14, 2018, 11:30pm:

"Menggay, huy!" My best friend Kat nudged my side with her elbow as she sat beside me in the backseat during our drive back to my condo from The Script concert.

"Ano yun?" I blinked in confusion when I turned to her after sending an iMessage to you. The twenty second then left unreplied. I tried calling you too buty your calls seemed to be automatically directed to your voicemail.

I knew your flight already landed so your phone could not possibly in airplane mode. We had plans of me picking you up from the airport but the opportunity to watch the concert of my favorite band came at the last minute and I had to suddenly cancel that plan. I told you that when I called you before you boarded. As expected, that information wasn't exactly received delightedly but you said you understood. We agreed on meeting at my condo after which was where we were headed but you didn't even text me when you arrived. I didn't know where you were and I sensed that you might be upset.

"Ano? Lutang lang? High ka pa din ba kay Danny? Ganda mo kasi eh noh?" Jannica laughed.

"Hmmm... Lutang pero I don't think lutang sa saya. Tignan niyo kunot ang noo at humahaba ang nguso. Mukhang jowa ang iniisip niyan. LQ kayo noh?" Ola chuckled at us as he looked at us from the rear view mirror.

"Di ba nagda-drive ka? Bakit mukha ko ang pinapanood mo? Diyan ka sa daan tumingin." I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms across my chest as I sunk in my seat.

"Gusto mo pag-usapan?" Kat smiled softly.

I sighed and shook my head. "I don't even know what's wrong, Kat. He's not answering my texts or calls so hindi ko alam kung anong pag-uusapan."

"Okay lang. Baka pagod. Mahaba ang flight nun. Malay mo nasa condo mo na pala at nakatulog. Hayaan mo lang muna." Kat said.

"Oo nga. Kung ano man yan, I'm sure maaayos niyo naman agad. Kayo pa ba? Nalagpasan niyo nga yung bagyo ng last quarter ng 2017, ito pa?" Jannica added.

"Tama. Baka praning lang ako. Praning lang ako malamang. I just miss him so much I guess." I sighed.

"God! Can I be spared from this girl talk? Andito na condo mo. Sasama ba kayo kay Meng? Kailangan ko na umuwi." Ola said.

"Menggay?" Kat gave a me a questioning look and a smile.

"Okay lang ako. Late na din. Tsaka kung nasa taas nga yun baka..." I wiggled my eyebrows and the girls shrieked.

"Meng! My god! Oo na! Uuwi na kami!" Jannica laughed. "Good lick ay luck pala."

"Loka-loka!" I laughed with her.

"Sige, Menggay, dito na lang kami. Stay safe." Kat winked. "I mean ingat pag-akyat."

"Thanks?" I chuckled. I gave Kat and Jannica a kiss each on the cheek before hugging the back of Ola's seat with my hands locked under his chin. "Bye, Ola."

"Bye! Wag masyadong clingy. Magagalit si Gov." He grinned.

"Baliw! Bye na. Ingat sa pagda-drive." I pinched his cheek and got off the car. "Thanks for tonight, guys." I said as I waved at them.

"Kami dapat mag-Thank you uy! Thank you sa pa-concert, mayora." Kat grinned and waved as they drove off.

I went straight to the elevator as I tried your number again but the same thing happened, you didn't answer.

I was nervous as heck all the way up to the penthouse floor. I didn't want to expect anything but deep in my heart, I still hoped you would be there.

That's why it hurt when I opened the door and found you weren't. I tried to think about what the girls said, not think too much. Maybe we're really okay. Maybe you didn't reply to my messages coz you plan to surprise me or something. Maybe you forgot to turn off the airplane mode on your phone. Maybe your in my room.

It was when I opened that door and found bags and boxes of fans's gifts for me sent through you and stuff you bought for me beside the bed, with no you, with no note, with no anything that one fact came crashing down on me. We are not okay.
