We finally reach Lulugayan Falls after a very eventful journey.

The view is spectacular and definitely worth all the new adventures I experienced this day, spelunking, riding a dump truck up a very rough and muddy mountain road, riding a motorcycle with three passengers and a driver for the rest of the way coz the truck couldn't go on, hiking on a slippery trail because of the rain.

Everything was new to me and I enjoyed all of those experiences very much but I also missed you in every step I took. I wished you were with me. We have shared so many firsts together and this was one I wanted to add to the list. You would have loved doing all of those things.

Yesterday, out at sea, island hopping and riding a boat was second nature to me. The sea is the home of my spirit. So much so that I may very well be a mermaid in a past life.

Despite the little spat we had over the phone when you lectured me about the dangers of taking selfies and posting IG stories on the side of a boat moving at full speed in the middle of deep waters, holding on to (I now realize) a mere piece of bamboo with questionable integrity, without a life vest and I got back with a sermon on your hazardous habit of using your phone while driving, overall yesterday was great.

Especially after I got those mozzarella sticks you ordered and had delivered from a local restaurant followed by room service massage. To top it all, I received an apologetic video call with you dancing to Bastelicious while sporting a smoldering expression to make me laugh and then singing me to sleep with our current theme song, ILYSB by Lany.

Today... Today was more your day. I'm sure, being on the mountains and going on all those adventures would have been a walk in the park for you and you would have made the perfect companion but with all of the would have beens aside, I blessed today. I was blessed to be embraced by the beauty of nature and in turn made me appreciate why you love the mountains.

At the end of the day, today was still great. I may not be given the chance to share this first with you but I believe in my heart that we will have more to share throughout our lifetime together. Forever is a long time and there are more things for us to explore, more of the world for us to see and more love for us to share together.

I try calling you through FaceTime and thankfully, the signal here is strong enough to connect us.

"Hello, Love. Ang ganda naman." You smile.

"Ang ganda nung falls di ba? Napaka-amazing ng view." I say, making sure my phone shows you the falls behind me.

You sigh and smile. "Oo. Napaka-amazing talaga. Sobrang ganda."

"Yiiieee... Inaano ka ba?" I blush and tuck my hair behind my ear when I realize your eyes are actually focused on me instead of the scenery behind me.

"Eh sa sobrang ganda mo eh. Mukha kang diwata ng talon. Mas gumaganda yung view ng bundok at falls dahil sa'yo." You say and I wave my hand in front of the screen like sweeping away your compliment.

"Totoo kasi." You insist. "Madilim na ah. Di pa kayo bababa?"

"Bababa na niyan, Love. Di daw kasi pwede mag-swimming kasi umuulan. Sayang. Sana andito ka." I smile weakly.

"Magkakaroon din tayo ng marami pang pagkakataon. I would love to take you to the mountains with me." You sigh.

"I would love that."

You reach your hand out towards the screen and gently move it as if scooping my face. "I love you. Miss na miss na kita." You whisper.

"I love you too. Uwi na ako bukas." I smile.

"Can't wait." You smile back.

"Sige, Love ha? Magre-ready na kami pababa."

"Okay. Pero teka... Maine?"

"Yes?"

"Mamaya. Humawak kang mabuti pag-angkas ng moto tsaka ka na mag-selfie at please pakiayos yung damit mo, nakikitaan ka ng bra. Reapply your sunscreen and insect repellent. Nasa pack mo di ba? Pinalagay ko kanina? Magpalit ka agad ng damit pagbaba niyo at napawisan mo na yan buong araw. Wag kang magpapa-ambon baka sipunin ka na naman, kagagaling mo lang sa sakit. Maligo ka agad pagdating sa hotel para hindi lagnatin. Kumain ka ng mabuti at uminom ng maraming tubig, wag ka munang magco-coffee. Update mo ako palagi..." You say.

"Opo. Don't worry too much."

"Imposible yun, Love. Wala ako diyan eh." You sigh.

"Trust me lang, okay?"

"Okay. I love you. Ingat. Ingat. Ingat please."

"Opo, Dad." I giggle. "I love you too." 💛🍃
