The Resolute

You sit beside me on a seat in the EB service coaster after Sugod Bahay and while waiting for our cue to leave the location. I am busy playing Tetris on my phone so I barely raise my eyes to look at you briefly and say Hi.

You scoot closer and slide your back down the the backrest a bit to adjust to my shorter frame so that we sit shoulder to shoulder.

You don't say anything but I know you are smiling. The grin on your face is too wide not to notice in my periphery, your dimple boring deeper on your cheek if that's possible.

I try to ignore you and concentrate on the game but then you start rubbing your cheek on my shoulder and drumming your fingers on my thigh.

"Mmm? Bakit?" I ask.

"Walaaa... Anong bakit?" You answer.

"Nagpapapansin ka at ang laki masyado ng ngiti mo. Masyadong kinikilig." I say.

"Huy! Grabe ka sa akin, Love. Naglalambing lang, papansin agad?"

"So ayaw mong pansinin kita?"

"Siyempre gusto." You pout.

"E di nagpapapansin ka nga." I chuckle.

"Oo na! Oo na! Papansin na ako, okay? Pansinin mo na ako please." You nuzzle on my neck and look up at me with puppy dog eyes.

"Ang cute! Nakakainis." I giggles and hold your face in my hands. I look into your eyes and smile. "Ayan na. Pansin na pansin na kita."

"I love you." You sigh. "Sooooo... much. Sobra sobra talaga."

"I love you too." I say as I gently caress your cheek. "Sobra."

You smile widely and we stare grinning at each other like fools. Then you slowly lean closer to touch your lips on mine and kiss me tenderly.

We lean our foreheads against each other after our lips part then you kiss my nose and forehead.

You wrap your arm over my shoulders as I snuggle on your chest as we contentedly sit beside each other.

"Bakit nga kasi kanina ka pa ngiti nang ngiti?" I ask after a few moments.

"Wala. Ang cute mo kasi lalo na pag nagseselos ka." You grin.

"Selos? Ako?" I sit up and bewilderedly stare at you. "Kailan? Kanino?"

"Kanina. Kay Ate Winner kasi kinikilig siya sa akin tapos pinapa-kiss pa siya." You smirk when you see me scowl.

"Hindi ako nagseselos dun."

"Anong hindi? Halata kaya."

"Feeling ka din eh noh? Hindi nga ako nagseselos."

"Hindi talaga?"

"Hindi." I say firmly and you pout.

"I didn't get jealous because one only gets jealous over things she can not have but I already have you. Tama?" I ask with a raised eyebrow.

"Oo naman. Sa'yong sa'yo lang, Love."

"Ayun naman pala so I wasn't jealous. I was drawing the line around my property. Territorial ang tawag dun." I smirk.

"Woooh!" You gasp then stare at me heatedly as you bite your lip. "You have no idea how hot you are right now, Love."

"Ene be?" I hit your arm and tuck my hair behind my ear as I feel heat on my cheeks. "Wag ka nga. Inaano ka ba?"

"Ano nga ba? Inaano mo ba ako?" You ask.

I sigh and hold your hands as I stare directly into your eyes. "Minamahal." I whisper.

You smile giddily as your ears turn red. "Mahal na mahal kita, Nicomaine ko." You say softly.

I smile back and nod my head then close my eyes as you kiss my lips again.

"Totoo ba yung sinabi mo kanina?" I ask. "Dun sa tinanong ni Kuya Jose? Na anytime ready ka na..."

"Pakasalan kita?" You ask and I nod my head.

You take both my hands in yours and plant a kiss on each one. "Matagal na." You say. "Hindi ko na matandaan kung kailan eksakto nangyari basta nagising na lang ako na alam kong ikaw na. Ikaw na ang gusto kong makasama sa habang buhay at hindi ko na kayang mawala ka pa."

"RJ..." I whisper your name but I'm not sure what to say.

"Wag. You don't need to say anything, Love. Alam kong mahal mo ako, yun ang importante sa ngayon at kung kailan ka handa, kung magiging handa ka, pag-usapan natin ulit to." You kiss my hand again and pull me into your arms to hug me tight.

"RJ?" I whisper as I snuggle on your chest.

"Hmmm?" You hum without shifting our position.

"I don't see any other future but the one I have with you." I tell you as I tighten my arms around you. 💛
