Eh Yung Hindi Naman Tayo? DATI (COMPLETED)

"Menggay, may pulbos ka ba diyan?" Nanay asked while we were in the van on the way home from the party held in our McDonald's from MAICHARD fans for me.

I actually enjoyed that party. It was simple and fun and I really felt everyone was at ease and happy.

We were at the back of the van. I was on my phone still answering what seemed to be an endless stream of Birthday messages since yesterday.

"Pulbos, Nay? Baby ba ako?" I giggled. "Wala po akong pulbos, Nay, ang meron po ako, compact at loose powder tsaka blotting paper para di mag-mantika ang fez."

"Ayun na nga yun. In-English mo lang. Asan? Medyo oily na ako. Nakakahiya sa Tatay." She grinned.

I rolled my eyes and shook my head. "Yung totoo, Nay? Highschool? Nasa bag ko po."

"O sige. Ako na kukuha." She volunteered then got hold of my bag.

"Nay! Wag! Ako na po." Ate Niki interrupted and grabbed my purse from Nanay.

"Bakit? Ako na. Hawak ko na eh." Nanay glared and snatched the bag back from Ate.

"Nay kasi..." Ate Niki was about to explain when Nanay's cold stare stopped her.

I didn't understand why Nanay was so angry but I know that something was definitely going on in that smart head.

"Ako na po." I told them.

"Hindi." Nanay snarled as she turned that freezing stare at me.

"Nay... Bakit po?" I asked.

"Hindi ko pa alam pero matagal na akong nagdududa sa inyong dalawa. Lalo na sa'yo, Nicolette." She said.

Ate and I looked at each other. She moved her eyes from me to my purse in Nanay's hand then widened her eyes as if to warn me of my Nanay might find in there which I knew was nothing. I made sure of that. No evidence of our secret will be found there.

I saw Ate hold her breath as Nanay opened my purse and look inside. She found nothing but my wallet, a comb, hand sanitizer, a pack of tissues, a pack of wet wipes and the small vanity bag with the items I mentioned earlier, an eyeliner and lip and cheek tint.

"Compact po ba, Nay, or loose powder?" I asked as I heard Ate quietly release the breath that she was holding.

Nanay looked at us suspiciously then answered plainly. "Loose powder na lang."

She took the item from my bag but only held it in her hand while we rode the rest of the way to our home in silence.

When the van parked in the garage, Nanay immediately went down with Matti and marched to the house, totally ignoring us.

"Ito namang si Nanay, magwa-walkout na lang, binitbit pa talaga ang anak ko." Ate Niki pouted.

"Hala kayo... Anong ginawa niyo kay Changmerian?" Dean said as he shook his finger at us.

"Wala. Dun ka nga." I glared and pushed him forward to walk in front of us.

"Wala na dun yung ano. Inalis mo?" Ate Niki whispered.

"Oo, Ate. Tinago ko muna. Nakakaloka naman kasi sa bag ko talaga?" I asked in a hushed tone.

"Sorry na. Nataranta ako eh. Tumatawag na si Nanay. Feeling ko talaga, nanghuhuli siya eh." She said.

"Okay lang. Sorry talaga, Ate. Pati tuloy sa'yo may Cold War si Nanay." I smiled apologetically and she took my hand.

She held it tight and smiled. "Wala yun. Promise ko di ba? I gotchu, Pikachu."

We walked hand in hand to the house and I found renewed courage in my big sister's reassuring hold.

"Oh my god! Ateeeeee!!!" Coleen shrieked as ran down the stares towards us and hugged Ate Niki. She held something in her hand which was hard to make clear with her crushing our big sister in her arms.

"Huy! Kalma. Bakit?" Ate giggled as she struggled for air in the tight hug.

Coleen finally released her while Nanay, Tatay and the boys including Matti looked at the three of us.

"Look what I found!" Coleen beamed and opened her hand.

I felt the blood immediately drain away from my body and my skin grow cold when I saw the small pack in her hand. Ate squeezed my hand to encourage me though I knew she was as appalled as I was.

"Delayed ka na? Magiging kuya na si Matti? Dali! Mag-test ka na please." Coleen grinned.

"Oo nga, Niki. Mag-test ka na kung para sa'yo talaga yan." Nanay said.

We all looked at her and she stared back at us with a very serious expression. If there was something that my parents could not tolerate, it was lying to their faces. That's why I'm such a terrible liar. I just can't do it.

"Nay naman... Siyempre para kay Ate to. Alam kong di sa akin." Coleen explained. "Imposible naman pong sa inyo dahil retired na po yang bahay bata niyo at alangan namang kay Menggay. Takot lang niyan. Mala..." Her voice trailed as I let go of Ate Niki's hand and held my palm out towards Coleen. "Lagot si Tisoy."

Okay. I know I said we'll know the results na now but I felt the need to have this problem be handled by the family first no matter what the result might be. 😊 Don't worry. I have no Holy Week break from work so I won't have any break from writing either. 😅
