September 27, 2017:

"Hi, Love!" I beamed as I opened the door for you when you came to visit me at my place.

We arrived only minutes apart.

You walked in, gave me a quick glance then roamed your eyes around the condominium unit. I brushed off what seemed like a cold treatment from your after all, you may just be tired from your trip and the store opening activities of the day.

I placed a hand on your shoulder and tiptoed to kiss your cheek. It was then that I knew something was wrong. When you would normally slip your hand around my waist and rest it on the small of my back as you meet my kiss; you merely stood there with hands on your sides.

"Love?"

"Si Dean?" You asked, dismissing me as you stepped away from me still scanning the unit.

I felt a pang in my heart and hot tears brim my eyes. I turned my back against you, closed the door and locked it.

"Wala." I answered in a whisper straining against the painful lump in my throat that could break into a sob if I didn't hold it in. I took a deep breath and painstakingly mumbled my explanation. "Sleepover sa classmate. Group project."

A pregnant silence filled the room for ten seconds that felt like ten years as I waited for you to respond or walk towards me or leave... anything. I sensed your stare on my back and could almost hear your teeth grinding as you clenched your jaw.

I drew another long deep breath and exhaled slowly before facing you. I froze at the intensity of your stare as you that pierced through my eyes, you lips pursed tightly, your brows furrowed.

I have no idea what has gotten into you but if you were going to act like a jerk, I wouldn't want to be around you so I turned my back on you and walked to the kitchen.

"Maine." You called in a low stern voice that I immediately sent shivers down my spine.

I ignored you and proceeded to get some water from the fridge.

I heard your loud sigh followed by heavy footsteps as I was drinking from my glass but I did not turn, I kept my back against you.

You sighed again then I heard you slump to sit on one of the stools. I waited for you to say something, anything but still nothing.

I turned to leave again. If you won't talk to me, I won't be the one to say the first word. I left my glass on the counter still half-full and walked away without looking back.

I heard the light scraping of glass on tiles, a couple of gulps and the sound of glass gently landing on the countertop.

I sat on the couch and turned the TV on and surfed through the channels without really looking at the screen. You sat on the other end of the couch but I could feel the weight of your stare. We stayed that way for a good half an hour.

Finally, I've had enough. I got up and walked towards my room.

"Mag-lock ka na lang pag-alis mo." I said and stepped past you.

You grabbed my wrist to stop me and sighed. "Sandali."

I turned to face you and met your gaze. "Usap tayo." You said.
