"Love, wag ka na kayang tumuloy?" You told me over the phone.

"Ha? Love naman eh. Andito na ako. Naka-garahe na ang kotse. Nakita na ako ng Nanay." I frowned. "Bakit, Love? Anong problema?" I asked, already out of my car and walking towards the direction of your house.

"Anong 'anong problema'? You know exactly what the problem is." You sounded upset as your voice raised a little. "Umuwi ka na. Sandali lang naman ako dito. Ba-biyahe na rin ulit ako pa-Manila. Naglambing lang kasi si Matti na sumama ako hanggang pag-uwi nila."

"Hindi pwedeng ganoon, Love. Kaya nga sinusundo kita ngayon di ba? Kasi late na tsaka whole day ang taping ko bukas, ngayon lang tayo magkakasama. Please, Love, pag-usapan natin to. Mas lalong magtataka sina Nanay kung bigla akong umalis. You don't have to face this alone. Ilang beses ko bang kailangan sabihin sa'yo na magkasama tayo dito?"

"Umalis ka na. Makakagulo ka lang." I heard you say, your voice more distraught than ever.

"Love..." I was trying my best to stay calm despite my own agitation over your repeated rejection of my presence because I knew you were upset and I didn't want this to escalate into a full-blown fight. "Sandali... Umiiyak ka?" The sound of your soft sobs drowned whatever brilliant rebuttal I had in mind.

"Uy! Teka, Meng, sandali lang." I sprinted across your lawn and straight to your front door, hugging the boxes of pastries I brought as pasalubong.

"I need you..." You sobbed. "RJ, I need you..."

You have no idea how lightning fast I shot through your doorway as soon as Yaya Pe opened it for me. I was glad no one was downstairs when I got in. I barely caught what Yaya Pe said that Nanay was busy in the kitchen and Tatay was still in his home office. Your siblings were everywhere else in the house and I made a mental note to say hi to everyone later.

I rushed upstairs, taking two steps at a time to get to you as quickly as I can. You must have heard my footsteps approaching because as I raised my knuckles to knock on your door, it swung open and you launched towards me. You flung your arms over my shoulders and buried your tear-soaked face on the crook of my neck. Your entire body shook as you sobbed. I immediately wrap my arms tightly around you and gently stroked your back up and down. With arms around each other, we walked inside your room and closed the door behind us.

"Ssshhh... Tahan na. Andito na ako." I whispered softly as I held you in my arms, sitting on your bed with you across my lap while you hugged my neck and cried.

"Natatakot ako." You sobbed. "Kanina pa ako dito. Halos di ko sila maharap lalo na sina Tatay at Nanay."

I sighed and kissed your temple as I pulled you closer to me. "Akala ko ba okay na tayo? Na hindi muna natin iisipin yung problema kasi una sa lahat, kahit ano pa ang resulta nun, hindi naman talaga dapat yun problema. A baby is a blessing kahit sa anong sitwasyon pa siya ibigay sa atin." I told you softly.

"Baby?!" We both heard a sharp loud gasp and looked up to find Ate Niki's wide-eyed and shocked expression.

"Ate..." You called weakly as you wiped your tears away.

"Jusko, Menggay! Buntis ka?!" She was whisper shouting as she stepped inside the room and locked the door behind her. She quickly scuffled to Coleen's bed and sat down to face us. "Tisoy, Menggay, ano?" She frowned. "Magkaka-baby na kayo? Magkaka-pinsan na si Matti? Kailan pa to?" She asked.

We didn't answer for a while, Ate Niki's expression was unreadable it was a cross between confused, shocked and excited.

"No." You sighed. "I mean, we're not sure." You answered.

"Anong hindi sure? Paano? Nag-test ka ba?"

"Opo. Negative naman kaso hindi pa ako nagkakaroon eh." You told her. You sounded much calmer.

"Ayun naman pala baka delayed ka lang talaga. Ilang days?"

"5 days na ngayon." You stated.

"Ayun lang... Nakakakaba nga yan. Bakit ba kasi? Gumawa lang kayo nang gumawa tapos bahala na si Batman, ganoon?" She asked.

"Hindi po." I said. "Nag-iingat naman po kami pero may maliit na chance pa rin po kasi na meron." I sighed as I continued to stroke your back while you were still on my lap.

"Hay naku, Menggay. Bumaba ka nga diyan. Nadi-distract ako. Di ko maseryoso tong usapan. Borderline ang kilig ko eh." She chuckled and we giggled as you slipped down from my lap to the bed beside me, finally breaking the tension in the room.

"Ayun naman pala. Maliit lang naman pala ang na meron eh. Wag niyo munang alalahanin." She told us. "At Menggay..." She said as she took your hand and held it between hers. "Wag ka nang umiyak. I got'chu." She smiled. "Etong Tisoy mo, mukhang paninindigan ka naman."

"Opo. Opo. Opo." I nodded determinedly.

"Oh kita mo. Alive, Alert, Awake, Enthusiastic pa." She laughed.

"Wag mo ring katakutan sina Tatay and Nanay dahil sila, kaming lahat, mamahalin at susuportahan ka kahit anong mangyari. Ewan ko lang dito kay Tisoy." She snickered.

"Ate naman..." I pouted and scratched the back of my head.

"Joke lang." She laughed louder. "Lab ka din kaya namin. Pamilya tayo dito. We're all in this together..." She sang the last sentence ala High School Musical. "Kulang na lang naman sa inyo, tunay na kasal kasi kung maka-manugang si Tatay sa pagpapakilala sa buong angkan ng Capili at Mendoza walang kakurap-kurap." She grinned.

"Thank you, Ate." We both smiled at her. ❤️
