February 5, 2018:
I've been waiting to hear your voice the whole day. Okay not the whole day. The entire afternoon at least. It was 6 pm and since we got back together, we never let a couple of hours pass without hearing each other's voice.
OA, I know but I miss you, okay? I miss you.
I knew you were busy the entire day though, traveling to Ilocos, tapings and meetings here and there then traveling to Batanes, where you had more tapings and meetings and toured around the place that once mesmerized you so after that call you made to me in transit to the Northern most end of the Philippines, all I got after were several text updates.
Finally at 7 pm in front of the cold dinner I did not get to eat while staring at my phone and lurking around social media, looking at posts about you, my phone rang and your dimpled smirk appeared on my screen. One of those surprise private selfies you took on my phone and set as your contact picture. This one shirtless, on my bed, with me still sleeping in the background.
"This guy." I giggled. "Baliw talaga. May pa-souvenir pa nang pre-trip babetime. Buti na lang walang tao dito."
The wide smile that drew on my face felt like it was going to rip my cheeks.
Damn it, Richard Faulkerson Jr! You have got me hooked on you, line and sinker.
I probably shouldn't tell you that though or you'll be all smug again and melt my heart into a puddle with that smirk that should be illegal. "Pogi mo eh noh?" I chuckled and answered your call.
"Tagal mo sumagot. Di mo ako miss?" You said and I could almost see the pout on those delicious pink lips.
I laughed. "Kasi naman. Ano na naman tong ginawa mo sa phone ko? Nakakagulat."
"Nagustuhan mo ba?" You asked, your voice low and inviting.
Thank goodness your signal was not good enough for a FaceTime call or the smirk and eyebrow wiggle that could have come with that question will be the death of me.
"Anong nagustuhan?! Yang kampidens level mo talaga eh noh?" I laughed.
"Siyempre naman. THE Maine Mendoza ang girlfriend ko oh." You chuckled.
"Ene be? Weg ke nge, Alden Richards."
"Sooo... Nagustuhan mo nga..." You said, your voice spine-shivering low and I could imagine the lip bite that went with that.
Haaay, Richard, ano ba? Siyempre gusto.
"Hindi noh! Nakakaeskandalo! Paano kung iba ang nakakita nun?" I laughed.
"Eh di nakita. Kung sino man yun, malalaman niyang akin ka." You said.
"Uy! Insurance pala to?" I chuckled. "Hindi mo na kailangan nun. Sa'yo lang naman ako talaga."
"At sa iyo lang din ako, Nicomaine ko." You sighed.
"Kumusta ka naman? Kumusta kayo ni Ma'am Jen diyan?" I asked. "Pagod ka na ano?"
"Okay ako. Okay naman kami. Mas okay na." You answered. "I miss you. Miss na miss kita." You said.
I miss you too. So much.
"Wala pa ngang isang araw." I giggled.
"Eh ganoon eh. I miss you all the time, Love. Kung pwede lang kitang i-kwintas, itali sa laylayan ng t-shirt ko o isiksik sa manggas ko, ginawa ko na noon pa para di ka nalalayo sa akin." You said.
"Hindi mo ako ibubulsa?" I asked.
"Kung pwede lang... Oo!" You answered.
"Front jeans pocket ha?" I smirked.
"Uy!" You chuckled and I was sure your ears were bright red. "Ang ganda talaga dito sa Batanes. Di ako magsasawa." You sighed. "Pangarap ko talagang madala ka dito. I'm sure you'll love it here. We can stay for a week or longer, no work, no phones, no TV, just you and me and the beauty of the hills and the ocean." There was a sense of tranquility in your voice that took me ti that dream with you.
I smiled at that thought. That would be wonderful. "If Batanes makes you this calm and happy, I'm sure I will love it. Pwede ba tayong tumira sa light house?"
"Gusto mo? Gagawan ko ng paraan." You answered.
"Hala! Grabe siya!" I laughed.
"Let's get married." You said out of nowhere with a sudden burst of excitement.
"Love, tapos na ang proposal. I said yes already." I giggled.
You chuckled. "I know but I meant let's get married here." You said with a certainty in your voice. "Ikakasal pa rin tayo sa Vatican. Naka-set na yun. Alam ko din na dream wedding mo sa beach with white sand, gagawin din natin yun, but I'm thinking we can also do a super private and quiet ceremony here. Pwede ba yun?" You asked.
"It doesn't matter where or when or how, as long as I am marrying you, pwedeng-pwede. That would be my dream wedding each time, Love." I smiled. "Pero what made you think that all of a sudden?"
"There's this small chapel on a hill called Mt. Carmel, over-looking the ocean surrounded by wide green open space, na-imagine kitang naglalakad doon, papunta sa akin. I want to marry you there. Ang taas, ang ganda, parang hahalik na sa langit. It looks like the perfect place to marry someone heaven-sent."
"Heaven-sent? Ako?" I laughed. "The place seems beautiful though."
"It is and you are too. You are heaven-sent because all beautiful, kind and wonderful miracles like you only come from one place." You said.
"Ano ba?" I smiled giddily and tucked my hair behind my ears, my head full of dreams and my heart brimming of warmth. "Bakit ka ba nagpapakilig?"
"Hindi ako nagpapakilig, nagsasabi ako ng totoo." You answered sincerely.
"In that case, my angel, let me say yes again. Yes. I WILL marry you anytime, anywhere." I smiled. "Pagkatapos nito, pag natupad na itong isang pangarap mo na wish nating dalawa, let's talk wedding garments."
"Yes! Let's go!" You cheered. "Tapos baby garments?" You added.
"One at a time, Love. One at a time. Yung sa'yo muna tapos sa atin tapos sa little Faulkersons." I chuckled.
"Soon na yan. Very soon, my love." You said. "I love you."
"I love you more." I smiled. "Anytime. Anywhere. Always. I love you, RJ."
