Different Lives, Different Events

Chapter 18

Colby:

As I sat in Leah's hospital room, I saw her lying there motionless. I just started to cry and all my tears just started to pour out. I know I just met her and all but without her in my life, I couldn't live. As I got up, and leaned over her bed and said softly in her ear "Please Leah....please....I need you." I couldn't help myself but just cry. I rest my head down on her chest and closed my eyes very slow. I did flashback's about what we did the past couple times I was with her. Her laugh brought joy to my life, her smile brighten my day, her eyes are so beautiful, her hazel eyes. I felt something on my ear like a beating sound. I lifted my head and looked at her. I put my hand on her chest and felt her heart. HER HEART WAS BEATING!!!!! I was so excited I yelled for the doctor. Nurses and everybody came running back in and I was so relieved. Her mouth opened and she grasped for air and kept sucking it in as I if she never breathed.

Leah:

I heard Colby come in my hospital room and he sat down and began to speak. I wasn't really listening and then something caught me. "Leah...if I lost you, I couldn't live. I would live in pure blackness and with no happiness in my life. I love you." I almost teared up after what he said. I responded "I love you too Colby." And then everything went black again. I was scared and didn't know what happened.
*5 minutes later*
I felt something heavy on my chest and hairy. I opened my eyes and little and saw Colby. His hair was so soft, i never realized that. He was crying and I felt so bad for him. I put him through so much pain and he didn't need it. His head rose slowly and looked at me. He didn't realized I had my eyes opened a little. Then I opened my eyes a little more and sucked in a great amount of air. And couldn't breathe and I was freaking out. I couldn't hear much, but I did head Colby yell at someone. Then all these people who looked like doctors and nurses, came and were putting a lot of things on me.
*10 minutes later*
I opened my eyes and looked over at Colby, who wasn't asleep. "Why, are you still here and not asleep?" He looked at me sharply with his bright blue eyes and came over towards me. "Hey...I'm alright, okay?" He started to cry a little and shook his head up and down.

Colby:

It took them forever to put everything on her. About 10 minutes later they were done. Her eyes were closed and she looked peaceful. She said "Why are you still her and not asleep?" I looked over at he and was surprised she said anything. I ran over and took her hand and I was so worried about her. She told me she was okay but deep down inside I knew she wasn't fine. "How are you feeling?" I asked her and she cocked her head towards me and gave me a smile. "Well besides how much pain I'm in, I'm okay. I promise." That didn't make me feel better. I wanted her out of here and at home with me and me taking care of her. The doctors told us that whenever she feels like walking and moving we could leave. But that took like days and I didn't want to go home. But Katy and Corey came and visited her and while they visited her I went home and took a shower and changed clothes. I came back and Leah was walking. I was so happy. We went home that same day.
