Chapter 57

Grace:

I woke up in a sudden with the lights shooting through the curtains. I stretched and then looked skeins for Sam. I got on my phone to see what the day was and the time. "Oh crap!" I saw that it was June 13th. Today is Leah's birthday!! I facepalmed so hard. I got up and got in the shower. "DANCING IN THE MIRROR...SINGING IN THE SHOWER!" I was hardcore singing the whole time. Once I got out and got all dried off and dressed, I headed downstairs. There was Sam trying to make breakfast. "Good morning!" He jumped a little bit and looked up at me. "Well good morning sleeping beauty." He came over and gave me a hug. He then looked down at me as I was puckering my lips. He bent down and kissed me on the lips. I smiled and then went over to the kitchen and sat down. "Whatcha makin' Samuel?" He looked at me with a stare and then smiled at me. "Well I am trying to make a gourmet breakfast for my princess but I guess I'll just make you pancakes." He started to put everything away and when and got out the pancake mix. "Aww poor baby." I did a pouty face. We both laughed. "Oh hey Sam today is Leah's birthday and guess what?" I looked at him. He looked up and thought. "Oh I don't know but that's awesome that today's Leah's birthday." I rolled my eyes and said "It's Leah and Colby's one year anniversary!" He looked up and his mouth dropped like all the way to the floor. "No way! We have to do something big for them!" I said with excitement. "Umm actually Colby is already planned something for Leah's birthday and their anniversary. And I'm not allowed to tell, you'll find out tonight." I was mad a little bit but understood because it may be a surprise. "Oh okay!" Sam made us pancakes. I ate all of mine up in like a couple seconds. "Okay I have to go and get Leah and birthday present." I said as I was finishing my pancakes. I kissed him and then out my dishes in the sink. "Okay I gotta go. Bye I love you!" As I was walking out Sam yelled at me. "Grace! Go to the park at 9 tonight!" I nodded my head and headed out.

Leah:

I woke up to Alastair licking my face. I grabbed him and said "Well hi!" His little tail was wagging and he looked so happy. I set him down right beside me, he soon laid down and fell asleep. I looked at my phone. It read June 13th. I sat up quickly and was so excited. "Hey guess what Alastair?" He turned his head sideways looking all confused. "It's my birthday! I'm so old. I'm turning 21!" I got up and got it the shower and was in a really good mood. I got out and dried off and also decided to dry my hair. Okay I hate drying my hair because it takes a long time. I usually go to bed with a wet head and then straighten it in the morning (This is very true I'm real life). I was thinking about putting on like full face makeup and then I thought "Leah you are the laziest person on earth. No way you're doing that. Just put mascara on." I rummaged through my makeup bag and was searching for mascara. I reached my hand in and grabbed it. As I was pulling it out of the bag I went too fast and my makeup went everywhere. I sighed and rolled my eyes. I forgot about it because again I'm too lazy! I ran downstairs and saw Colby had left. He left me a note on the fridge. "Good morning baby, Happy Birthday! You're finally 21! Well anyways I'm sorry that I had to leave like this, this morning. I had things to do. So I'm taking you out to dinner for your birthday. Okay I'll pick you up at 6pm so be sure to be ready. Okay that's all for now love you!" I smiled and laughed. I needed to hang out for someone on my birthday so I called Grace. "Hey bro!" Grace sounded so excited.
"Wassup?!" I replied back.
"What's up?"
"Um so Colby left me this morning because he had things to do but I'm going to dinner with him tonight for my birthday. So I'm bored right now, so do you wanna hang out?"
Grace thought about it for a while.
"Sure! Where do you wanna go?"
"How bout we go to Blaze Pizza and then go to the mall?"
"Sure! I'll be over in like 5 minutes. See you soon!"
"Byeeee!"
Great now I had everything ready and planned to hang out with my like best friend in the entire world. It's been a couple weeks since Colby had been out of the hospital and he's fully recovered. I'm so glad that he is. "Alastair! There's food in the dog bag. If you're hungry get it yourself!" As I was heading out the door. I felt bad for leaving him home alone. I'll just call my other friend to watch him.

*I don't wanna rush this chapter or anything but I wanted to upload this yesterday because my actually birthday was yesterday. And there is something important happening in this chapter so I'm like going to skip to the dinner tonight. Sorry again!*

Colby:

I really hope everything works right. I pulled up to Leah's house and saw her in an elegant black fitted dress with black heels and her hair flowing in the light breeze tonight. She looked so beautiful and I loved it. She walked over to my car and got in.
"What?"
"Nothing. I'm just speechless babe. You look so pretty."
"Aww thanks!"
She laughed. I loved her laugh so much.
"Oh by the way happy birthday!"
"Aww thank you!"
I held her hand all the way to the restaurant. We went to a really fancy restaurant and I think she loved it based on her reaction in her face. She held my arm as we walked in. I was wearing a black dress shirt with a red tie and my glasses. I don't wear glasses all the time but today I had to. The dang contacts were bugging me. As I was telling them my name I could see Leah staring at me in the corner of my eye.
"Wait one moment please."
I smiled.
"Like what you see?"
She blushed and looked away quickly.
"I just can't get over how cute you look in glasses and your tie and everything."
I laughed and so did she. They came back and found our name. We followed the waiter to our table.

*Skip to after dinner. Again really sorry it's just I'm tired and wanna get this chapter uploaded.*

Okay it was time for my plan to work.
"Hey lets go to the park for a stroll in the park."
"Okay!"
Leah took her heels off and was carrying them. I grabbed them and then smirked.
"So how was my baby's birthday going so far?"
"Amazing! I went out to lunch with Grace and went to the mall too!"
"Good! I'm glad to hear that you're having a good day so far."
I'm so nervous for this to happen.

Leah:

As we were walking in the park I started to see light up ahead.
"Umm Colby what is that up there?"
Colby squinted his eyes. He smiled and looked down at me.
"You'll see."
I was starting to feel suspicious about this. We started to walk more and more up there. We finally got there and Grace, Sam, Katy, and Corey. There were lights all around and a big banner saying 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEAH!'
"You guys! Are you serious?"
I started to like tear up because I wasn't expecting this. There was a birthday table and there was like 5 presents from each of them. I went over and opened them. Grace got me a basket full of orange things like orange juice, Gatorade and gum and anything orange. Sam got me a new pair of flip flops because Alastair chewed mine up. I put them on and my feet felt so much better. Katy got me a really warm blanket like it was warm and soft. Corey got me a perfume from Hollister. It smelled really good. And Colby got me a bracket with a picture of when we first started dating until now, 1 year later.
"Awww I love you guys!"
Colby put it in me and it looked so pretty.
"Wait there's one more thing."
Colby blind folds me and runs to grab something.
"Ready? 3...2...1"
He takes the blindfold off of me and I see what else he got me. A big bear with my favorite kind of orange flowers. I run over to them and smell them.
"Leah?"
Colby says behind me. I turn around and see something in his hand.
"Leah we've been together for a year now and I don't know if I would be this happy without you. You're my sunshine in my darkest nights. And I wouldn't trade you for anything."
He pulls out a box and kneels down on one knee.
"Leah I love you so much. Will you make me the happiest man in the world, and marry me?"
I was crying and speechless. I was laughing and wiping away my tear as I was nodding yes. Colby jumped up and put the ring on my finger. I jumped on him. He hugged me and kissed me for a long time on my lips. Everybody was cheering in the back ground.
"I love you Colby Robert Brock!"
He smirked.
"I love you too Leah!"
