Chapter 45

New year Special

Sam:

I'm all ready to go Leah's for her New Years party. I can't believe that I'm invited to Leah's party, and I just met her?! Well at least Grace will be there. It's been almost 3 months since Jenny happened and me and Grace have been talking. I'm so excited for tonight. I better go out and buy some things for me to bring to the party. I'll just do that. I get my coat and my car keys and drive to Walmart. I'm Ohio I have a little house that has everything that I ever need. I bought it when my parents bought one. I was jamming out in the car to my favorite song  "WE BUILT OUR OWN HOUSE!! OWN HOOOUSEE WITH OUR HANDS OVER OUR HEARTS!!!" It was a song me and Colby used to listen to. Before I knew it I was at Walmart. I went to the beverage isle and got sparkling wine,water, and pop. Then I headed to the chip isle and got loads of chips and dips. I think this is good for now. I checkout and head over to Leah's.

Grace:

Today is New Years Eve and Sams coming over because Leah invited him. Just great! I mean I want to see Sam but I get all nervous talking to him. I shook off all of those feelings and realized I had nothing to wear. I went over to Leah's room and knocked. The door open quickly "Hey Grace! What's up?" Leah stood there in her best New Years Eve outfit. It was a long sleeve white shirt with swirls and glitter on the inside of the swirls,a black skirt and black wedges. "You look amazing Leah!" She laughed "Well thank you Grace. So what's up?" I cleared my throat and pulled her inside. Thank god Colby wasn't in there because I needed to talk to her alone. "Okay 1. I have nothing to wear 2. Sam is coming over to the party and since I have met him I kinda grew a crush on him?" Her face went blank and then her smile was huge. "Are you okay?" I asked her because she was acting weird "Yeah I'm fine. I'm just so happy that you like him. And I have the perfect outfit for you!" It was so beautiful! "I really hope Sam likes this!" I blushed so hard and I don't know why. "Oh he will. I mean look at you. You're beautiful,kind,caring and obviously have good fashion sense or a friend who does!" We both laugh. "Thank you for letting me borrow this!" I can't believe I'm wearing this tonight. In front of Sam?! "What borrow? You can keep it! You look much better in it than I do!" I hugged her and she tensed up. "Sorry and thank you!" I left her room and went back into the room I was staying at. I went to the bathroom and Leah's room and grabbed her makeup after she was done and a straightener. I had to get a shower other wise my hair would look bad. I had music blasting through the speaker I borrowed. I couldn't stop thinking about what Sam was going to think or even look like.

Sam:

I decided to go back home and change into something more dressy. I changed into a white dress shirt and black pants and black shoes. I looked in the mirror and decided I looked good but I unbuttoned a couple from the top. It was 4 now and I needed to go to Leah's house. I wonder what Grace would look like? I bet whatever she wears she'll look freaking hot! Wait? Did I just say that to myself? I laughed and left. I couldn't wait to see everybody. I was almost there and turned the corner and saw a whole bunch of cars at Leah's house. "Dang!!" I said out loud. She's having a big party. I parked beside Colby's car that he was borrowing from Leah. I got out and grabbed all of the stuff and headed inside. The door opened for me and someone stood in the doorway and I didn't know who it was. "Thank you." I ducked my head down and headed to the kitchen where I was met by Colby and Leah. "Hey guys!" I said and they all turned and looked at me. Leah came running over in high heels to help me. "Let me help you. Thank you Sam for buying this!" Leah said as she shoved a grape in her mouth. "No problem!" I handed her and Colby the things I bought. Now all I have yet to see is Grace.

Leah:

Colby had left to get pizza and other food for tonight. So I decided to get ready for the party. I straighten my hair and put on my makeup while listening to my songs. I saw Alastair in my mirror on my bed. "What's the matter Alastair?" He just laid there with all of his legs stretched out on my bed and his cute little face. "I know what'll make you be happy for this party!" I went over to my drawer and pulled out a little bow tie and a "Happy New Year" hat. I put it in him and he tried taking it off but didn't work. I was done with everything in about 2 hours. I heard the door slam. 15 minutes later I heard footsteps coming up the stairs and head to my room. "Hey babe! I got everything time to-" Colby was talking and then stopped when I was finished with my clothes and makeup. His mouth was opened big and I said "You better close your mouth before bugs fly in." I laughed and went over to him and kissed him. "Dang babe! Why do you look so good?!" I blushed and told him to get ready.

*3 hours later*

It's 4 o'clock and almost everybody is here. I was talking to everybody I went to school with and got to introduce Colby to them. We heard a door slam and Sam walked in with al of these groceries. I helped him unload and went back to talking. I felt something in my side buzz and it was my phone. I looked at it and it was from Grace! It read "Hey can you come upstairs ASAP?!" I quickly went upstairs to Grace. "What's wrong?" She was sitting on the edge of her bed all dressed. " I can't wear this. I don't look good in it." I gasped and got mad "Grace you look fantastic and don't you dare say that about yourself. You look good in anything you wear. In this you look freaking hot!! There are a lot of guys down there! Even Sam and I don't know how everybody is going to be able to see the ball drop. Because they all are going to be looking at you! Please wear it!" She looked down and then smiled at me "You know what your right! Thank you! This is why you are my best friend!" I hugged her and we went downstairs.

Sam:

I was in the living room with Colby talking to him. All of a sudden Leah comes downstairs with a smile on her face. "What's got you in a good mood?" Colby asks her. "Just wait and see!" Soon Grace came walking downstairs in a white sleeveless top with swirls,a long red skirt that was layered and short in the front and long in the back with red high heels. I walked over to her at the end of the steps  and held my hand out. She smiled at me and grabbed my hand. I took her over to Leah and Colby. "Umm why is everybody staring?" Grace asked. She sounded scared and embarrassed. I answered "Because they just saw the most prettiest girl ever." She blushed and everybody resumed talking.

*Lets skip to 10 seconds left till the ball drops*

Grace:

Everybody had a champagne glass in their hand either filled up with wine or sparkling wine. I stood by Sam and Leah and Colby. "10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,2!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!" Everybody yelled. Colby and Leah kissed and I awed. I felt an arm around my waist and looked over quickly. It was Sam!! We both just stood there for like 5 seconds and staring at each other. Sam pulled me in and KISSED ME?!? I kissed back and I couldn't believe it was happening!! We broke away and Sam started to speak. "Grace, for the last couple months I've grown to like you. Would you be my girlfriend?" I gasped and then smiled "Yes!" He hugged me and I kissed him one more time. This is the best New Years ever!!
