Chapter 46

Colby:

The day after New Years, oh I always love this day because it's my birthday. I rolled over and saw Leah still asleep. Leah woke up soon after I did. "Morning beautiful." I kissed her and she said "Morning, what are we going to do today?" My heart sank as soon as she didn't mention my birthday. "Nothing I guess." she clapped and then said "Okay good! Can you go to the pet store and get Alastair a trim and a shampoo?" I was sad because she forgot my birthday. "Yeah." I said that like I was depressed and then I smiled. I got changed and grabbed Alastair and headed to the pet store. "I mean I didn't forget her birthday at all!! Why would she forget mine? Huh, Alastair? What am I going to do?" Alastair just looked at me with his cute little face. "You're right, it's just another day." I shook off the feeling and smiled at Alastair as I petted him. He was so soft and now I know why Leah loves him.

*After Alastairs haircut and shampoo*

I was driving back to Leah's house when I got a phone call from Sam. "Hey yo wassup man?!" He screamed into the phone "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!" I took the phone off on my face quickly and rubbed my ear. "Yeah thanks bro." I could hear him laughing on the phone. "Hey can you come by my house please?" I sighed and then said "Yeah sure. But no birthday pranks." He laughed again and he said "I promise. See you in a little bit." He hung up with me and I started to head over to Sam's house.

*At Sam's house*

I got out of the car and saw Sam on the porch with Corey and Katy. "Hey guys? What's up?" I said with a weird tone. Everybody just looked at me and said "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!" I was shocked and they had drinks for me since I just turned 21. We all went inside and drank some drinks and laughed and talked about everything. "Okay so here's the thing. I woke up this morning to Leah and she didn't say Happy Birthday to me? I mean like I said Happy Birthday to her on her birthday?" Katy looked surprised and said "Maybe she just forgot this morning because it's early and she doesn't exactly like mornings." I thought about it and then shook my head. "You know you may be right?" I smiled and then we all laughed. I didn't drink much because I didn't want to get drunk on my birthday. I just wanted to have a normal birthday like all of the other ones. I soon left Sam's house and headed back home not drunk. I got to Leah's house and got out with Alastair right behind me. I opened the door to see Leah on the couch watching TV. "Oh hey babe can you go to Walmart to get me water? Please?" I shook my head with a smile and left.

Leah:

I can't believe how hurt Colby's face looked when I didn't tell him happy birthday. I sent him out to get Alastair fixed up while I did some things to get the surprise party ready. I got his present out from the basement and wrapped it. I then got to making food and thank god that I got all of that done. I was just about to go upstairs and get dressed and get his other present until I heard a car door shut. It was Colby, and he was home. I jumped over the couch and a turned on the TV. Colby walked in and saw me and he was smiling and I was curious. I asked him to go back and get me water and he did. I called Katy,Corey and Sam. "Hey he's gone. Come on over." They all got the message and they started to come over. I ran upstairs and got ready for the party.

*20 minutes later*

I ran downstairs because I head the door bell ring. I opened it up and it was everybody. "Come on in. Hurry!" I decorated everything one last time. Everybody was eating the fruit and talking before Colby got back. Sam went upstairs to talk to Grace because he already misses her. I'm honestly glad that hey are together. I saw Colby's car pulling up and we all hid. Colby had gotten me a LIFE water bottle and he remembered my favorite kind of water. He opened the door and we all yelled "HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLBY!!!!" his face was priceless. "Woah!! I thought you forgot about me?!" I ran up to him and kissed him. "Happy Birthday babe!" He hugged me back and kissed me. We had cake and we watched some movies and then came presents. "Okay Colby,presents! You're opening mine last!" I said with smile. Colby opened Corey and Katy's and it was brand new shoes. The shoes he's been wanting for a long time. "Oh my god!!! You guys didn't!! No way! Thank you guys!" He put them back in the box and placed them gently on the floor next to him. Sam hasn't came down so he'll have to give him his personally. "Okay my turn!!" I ran downstairs and came back up with one huge gift and one small one . "Woah, babe you didn't have to!" He was so shocked.  "Okay open them!" I said with my face full of excitement. He opens the first one and it was a key chain for his car keys. It was of our first date picture. "I thought you would like it?" He awed at it and then said "Thanks babe!" Here it was the last big one. He opened it and it took him quite awhile to open it because taped it a lot. He pulled out a card at it said "Happy Birthday baby! I hope you have an amazing birthday!! I love you!! P.s the present is a hint to what we are actually going to do." He smirked at me and then looked deeper into the box. He pulled out a blanket and looked at it. His face was confused and then went to excitement. "No way babe! You can't be serious?!" It was a picture of Coco Beach in Hawaii.(Btw that's an actual place and I want to go there so bad.) "Wait?! Are we going to Coco Beach?!!!" I shook my head up and down and he gave me a big hug and kiss. We all were laughing and filled with excitement. Soon Sam came downstairs with a sad look. "What's wrong Sam?" He looked at me and then smiled and said "Oh nothing. I just don't like stairs." We all laughed. But something was wrong with him. I have to find out.

Sam:

I got to Leah's house and couldn't wait to see Grace. I opened the door and gave everything to Leah and headed upstairs. I walked slowly to Graces room without making a sound. I got to her door and I tried to scare her. "BOO!" I smiled and she didn't jump one bit. "Grace? What's wrong?" I looked at her face and couldn't tell what was wrong. I could tell that she has been crying. "Sam I love you too much to get you hurt." She started to cry again. I tried to hug her but she just pulled away. "Grace what wrong?" I asked her again. "Sam....you can't be near me. After what happened after trusting Jenny who turned out to be the person wanting to kill my best friend. I trusted her with my life. I can't trust anyone now. I'm so sorry Sam." She started to cry ever more. "Hey you're never gonna loose me. I get it that you wouldn't trust anyone after what happened. But you can trust me. I promise." I said looking into her eyes. "No Sam, you don't know what it's like. You don't know what's it's like to trust someone and then they go and try to kill the person you love! Sam I really do like you but I just don't want you getting hurt. I can't risk you getting hurt." I couldn't believe that she yelled at me. She wiped the tears from her face and didn't even look at me. "Grace please-" before I could finish I was interrupted "Just leave!" I did as she wished but at the door way I told her "Grace I will never stop loving you. You'll be in my heart forever. When you're ready, I'll be right here by your side. Goodbye Grace."

Grace:

After Sam left I was crying so much. I couldn't believe I just did that. I love Sam too much to let him get hurt because of me. Leah got hurt because of me. If I would've never trusted Jenny none of this would've happened. I closed my door and just laid in bed crying the rest of the night. I just broke his heart so much and the look on his face looked like he was the saddest person in the world. I felt so bad for doing this but this is for his own good. I needed to protect him. Once he left, it felt like a piece of me left with him. I cried the rest of the night and didn't eat anything. I was sick of myself for doing this. Hurting the person who trusted me and who believed in me. I cried again. Until I fell asleep crying.
