Colby:

I don't know if I'm ready for Leah's parents to know but we've been engaged for about a month now. But I'm ready now that I think about it. I get there after Leah because I followed her there. She got out before me and walked over to my car.
"Ready did this?"
She said in a sarcastic tone.
"Ready as I'll ever be."
I said with a nervous tone.
We walk to the door and knock on it. Her mom comes to answer the door.
"Hey you guys! How are you? I missed you so much. Honey! Leah and Colby are here!"
She said as we was hugging us both. We stepped in and sat down on the couch.
"Okay mom, dad. We have something to tell you."
They both sat down and listened as Leah said in a serious tone. Leah pulled out her hand with the ring on and showed it as it shined in the sun. Her mom jumped up and squealed.
"Congrats Leah!"
She hugged Leah first and then me. Her dad came over to me.
"That's my boy."
Her dad said jokingly. I smiled as he shook my hand.
"So when did this happen?"
Leah looked at me.
"I proposed on her birthday. I felt that it was necessary because I asked her out on her birthday. And plus I wanted to spend the rest on my life with her as her husband."
I said with a smile. Leah awed and then grabbed my hand.
"So when's the wedding?"
We looked at each other.
"Umm we both don't know yet. We were thinking maybe next week? I don't know."
We both looked at each other.
"Well when you know tell me, okay?"
We nodded our heads yes. We got up said our goodbyes and headed to our apartment we share now. We moved out of her mom and dads and into an apartment. We got back to the apartment and I flopped down on the couch.
"Hey can we talk about something?"
Leah asked in a concerned tone
"Yeah sure what's up?"
"Well you know how you want to move back to California and all?"
"Yeah why?"
"Well I do to Colby because of the house I have and because of the restaurant I own. But that means I have to leave behind my family and friends."
"Wait Corey and Katy are coming back with us."
"No they aren't. Corey fell in love with the architecture and the landscape here. Both Corey and Katy want to stay here. I don't want to lose Grace again. What about Sam?"
"I don't know Leah. I thought he would be moving back with us. But I want to live where I love."
"But Colby back in California you get grumpy neighbors and bad attitudes. Don't you want to stay here?"
I thought about this. This conversation soon turned into an argument.
"Leah, California is my home because I've lived there ever since I graduated high school. And moving here and staying here, it's all new to me."
"California was all new to me too Colbs. I love California too. But whatever you choose I'll go with you."
I looked at her. She looked sad because she had given up in the argument.
"Leah listen. I love it here too, trust me. Do you want to stay here?"
Leah thought about it for a moment.
"Yes, but I only moved to California because I wanted a new and fresh start to a new life. I had to much crap going on here that I needed to get as far as possible away. But I also don't want to leave my family and friends."
She lowered her head and sat down. I came over to her and gave her a hug. She leaned her head in my chest.
"I'll talk to Sam and Grace to see what their plans are okay?"
She nodded again as she was still leaning on my chest.
"I'm sorry about fighting with you tonight. We can more in the morning. Let's go and get some sleep okay?"
She nodded again. She got up and headed to the bedroom. I got on the bed and covered up as she layed down next to me.
"I'm sorry too. We just need to make decisions together now that we are going to be together forever."
I rolled over to face her. I cuddled with her and kissed her forehead. She came closer to me. I covered us up and then turned the light off.
"Night Leah I love you."
I said tiredly
"Night Colbs, I love you too."
And then we both drifted off into a deep sleep.
