Chapter 88

Moana's POV

  Time skip... the weekend... Saturday morning to be exact...

   It's about eleven in the morning and Maui and I are about to head to the beach, which you already know is two hours away. Since we're ready to leave now, we should be there by one in the afternoon... well as long as there isn't any traffic. We're taking Maui's car for a change. He helps me put my things into the trunk as well as his. I get in the car, wait for him to start it up, and then we're off to the races. Hooray! 

Two hours later... 

  Maui and I arrive at the beach and get the best parking spot. When we're all parked, he turns to look at me with a grin plastered on his face. "Are you ready princess?" I smile. "I'm ready." He takes my hand in his and together we walk into our first choice wedding venue, which is a gazebo that the town rents out to people want to use it. It's giant and overlooks the ocean. 
It's simply beautiful. I really hope that we're able to afford it. The renter to sort of speak, is a middle aged man named Gus. He flashes us a polite smile. "Why hello there you two, how may I help you?" I look at Maui for permission to speak and he gives me a nod, allowing me to speak first. "Hey Gus, we're interested in renting the gazebo and surrounding space for our wedding in two months time." 

   Gus clasps his hands together. "You two are just a lovely couple. What's your budget like?" Maui grimaces a bit. "Our budget is four thousand dollars. How much will that get us?" Gus smiles "Well the gazebo rental cost along with the surrounding space will only cost you 1,500 dollars so that leaves you with over half of your money for other wedding expenses." Maui and I look at each other happily. "That's wonderful!", I say. Maui nods in agreement. "Can we pay you by check?" Gus smiles. "Glad to hear that you'll be having your wedding here. Yes I can accept a check." Maui pulls out his checkbook, fills out a check, signs it, and hands it over to Gus, whom is thrilled to be earning 1,500 dollars from us. I'm just so happy we were able to afford this spot. I honestly thought it was going to cost a lot more than it did. Our dream wedding is going to be a dream come true. 

   Maui and I grab some lobster at this cute little lobster shack for lunch to celebrate this joyous occasion. Neither of us have had lobster in so long so this sure is a delicacy. "Maui, I'm so happy right now." He places our lobsters in front of us with a genuine smile on his face. "Me too Mo. We're so close to having the wedding of our dreams and were able to get our top choice venue. Now all we have to do are the small things like pick out the cake, catering, rings, and have suit and dress fittings. The only part I dread is the suit fitting for me. Having some old lady nearly choke me to death to get a tux on isn't exactly going to be all that fun." I giggle at that. "Well I'd volunteer to choke you instead, but I want it to be a surprise to see what tux you'll be wearing." Maui nods in agreement. "Yeah there's no fun in ruining a wedding surprise as big as that. I know I wouldn't want to see your stunning dress before the wedding." 

  Maui and I finish our lobster and use the bathroom before deciding to hang out on the boardwalk for awhile. It's surprisingly warm for the end of March. I mean it's not a heat wave, but it's not super cool either. I'd say it's about 70 degrees. 70 is nice, it's not too hot nor is it too cold, it's just right. We play a few games, get some ice cream, and sit down on a bench overlooking the ocean. The smell of it is great and the sound of the waves gently crashing along the shore calms me straight to the core. After we finish our ice cream, Maui pulls me onto his lap and we have... you guessed it... a makeout session. Don't judge us. There's no one around and we haven't been able to do this in days. I've been a good girl this week. I fought off all of my urges, including during our study date. It isn't easy to not throw myself into Maui's arms and kiss his lips off. What makes it even harder not to is that Maui is the best kisser ever. His lips are soft yet have a touch of roughness to them, making our kisses both gentle and passionate at the same time. 

   We do this for a little while before we both get tired and decide to just cuddle for a bit before making the trek back to the car for our two hour ride back to campus. This has been a really nice day though. I'm looking forward to making the rest of the wedding plans in the coming weeks. My mom volunteered to help me in the wedding planning process which I'm grateful for. We didn't can't do this completely by ourselves.
