One Year Anniversary Date (Part 2)

Chapter 82

Moana's POV

  The words "Will you marry me?" echo repeatedly in my head. I stare at Maui in shock with tears falling down my face and a hand over my mouth. I can't believe he just asked me that question. I'm so happy but wasn't expecting it so soon. Of course I'm going to say yes, I'm just having some trouble getting the words to come out of my mouth. Maui continues to stare at me anxiously. "Mo, I know this is sudden and quite a shock to you... but not having an answer yet is giving me a bit of anxiety. I'll understand if you say no." I put a finger over his mouth to silence him. "Yes." A sad expression forms on his face. "I understand... wait what? Was that a yes?" I cry some more happy tears and smile. "Yes. Yes I will marry you Maui." His sad expression shifts into a much happier one. Cheers erupt all around us as Maui lifts me into his arms and spins me around. 

  Out of the corner of my eye, I notice Kristoff recording us and taking like a hundred pictures of us, causing me to smile even more. I'm so glad that we'll be able to have clear visuals of this day to remember for the rest of our lives. After spinning me around and sharing a gentle kiss, Maui gently puts me down and shares a bro hug with Kristoff. "Thank you so much for doing this man. I really appreciate it." Kristoff grins at the two of us. "Anything for love. Seriously though, you two are wonderful couple. I wish nothing but the best for you too. I only have one favor to ask of you two." I smile warmly at him. "You name it Kristoff and it's done." He blushes a bit. "I was wondering if you'd do the same for me when the time comes and I'm ready to propose to Anna." Maui wraps an arm around both him and I. "Done. Mo and I would be glad to return the favor when the time comes. Right princess?" I nod in agreement. 

   Eventually the excitement dies down a little bit as Maui and I finish up our dinner and move onto to dessert, which is red velvet cake on the house from the manager. Maui and I happily eat every last bite of it. It's superb. When it comes time to pay the bill, I notice that we got half off of our meal as well as our dessert free. What nice people. I'm definitely coming back here again someday, even if I have to wait months or years. The food is great, the staff is kind, and the service is excellent. Maui and I make sure to leave Kristoff a good tip, which was twenty dollars. He deserves it for all that he did for us tonight.  Maui then drives us to our final part of the date and won't give me any hints as to what it is other than the fact that it's outdoors in nature. 

Half an hour later...

We arrive at the lake and it's lit up with candles with a boat tied up to a nearby tree with two paddles. "Maui, how did you do this?" Maui grins at me. "I kind of sort of asked Jack and Flynn to help me out. I wanted to make this date really special for the both of us, especially you because one year together is a huge milestone." More tears form in my eyes. "I love it, I love you." Tears form in his eyes too but he wipes his eyes before they can fall. "I love you too princess. Now let me do the hard work. You just sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride." Maui unties the boat from the tree, pushes it into the water, helps me onto it, and paddles us around the beautiful light up lake. This reminds me of my favorite scene in the Notebook. I'm sure you all know what I'm referring to, especially the girls. Us girls only dream of having a date like this. Now I can say that I have. 

  As Maui paddles us around the lake, I stare at him with all of the love in the world. "I can't believe we're engaged now." Maui returns of my look of love. "I can't believe it either. I hope your parents don't kill me for proposing to you two years early." A laugh slips out. "I'm sure they'll be shocked at first as will our friends but I'm sure everyone will be happy for us. We don't have to come out about it right away if you don't want to." Maui takes my hands in his, pressing them both to his lips, making me swoon once again. "I'm an open book. I don't have anything to hide anymore. If you want to tell our friends and your parents, then I'm all for it. To be honest, I was going to tell the guys tonight when we got back." I lean in closer to Maui. We're so close that I can feel his breath on my neck. Maui notices how close I am to him and seals the distance, our lips crashing onto one another, sharing the most magical kiss yet. This kiss has passion, love, lust, and gentleness all wrapped up in one. 

   What to know something funny? I thought that Maui asking me out was the best day of my life but I was wrong. Maui proposing to me, asking me to be his wife in marriage like he has today, is the best day of my life. 

Hoped that you guys liked this chapter! I was able to have a much needed sick day off from work today which was nice because I got some rest. I have a touch of the flu and really hope it will go away soon. I sadly won't be able to update tomorrow night so hopefully there will be another update on Friday. I love you guys. :) <3 -Mary
