Epilogue

Chapter 95

Maui's POV

A major time skip... Fifty years later...

Moana and I almost in our seventies now and are sitting around in our little cottage home in England reflecting in our lives. Mo's parents both died thirty years ago, only six months apart from one another. Sina unfortunately got hit by a car and Tui had a severe heart attack. In those six months that Tui lived without Sina, he was miserable. Mo was his pride and joy, but Sina completed him. One might say that he died of heartbreak but one can't always be certain of things. If Mo were to die before me, I know I'd die soon after because I wouldn't be able to live for a long period of time, if not at all, in a world where Mo doesn't exist anymore.

Mo and I never had kids, what a shocker I know. I'm not being sarcastic by the way even though everyone knows that I'm the king of sarcasm. Both of us put our careers first and decided that having children just wasn't for us. As for our college friends, those friendships began to fizzle out not too long after graduation, though on bad terms. We'd still see each other once in awhile randomly in the city and/or at reunions. We stopped going to reunions five years ago because the rest of our friends did was well.

Mo looks at me with a curious expression on her face. Even though we no longer have our youth, Mo aged so well. She doesn't look a day over fifty. I on the other hand look like absolute hell. I hardly have any hair left and what little hair I do have left is all gray. I miss having my precious long locks. I'd give almost anything to go back to the days of my youth. Being old isn't all that great. "Maui, do you have regrets in life and/or in our marriage?" I shake my head no right away. "Moana, I have absolutely no regrets in life nor do I have any regrets in our marriage. What about you?" She also shakes her head no. "Same here Maui. I have no regrets in life nor do I have any regrets in our marriage."

I reach out and grab a hold of Mo's hands, gently squeezing them in mine. "Mo, I'm really glad that we got married fifty years ago and are growing old together. Even though we have more yesterdays than tomorrow's, I wouldn't have wanted to spend my life like this with anyone else but you. I love you princess." She giggles in that adorable way that still melts my heart to this day. "I love you too Maui. There was no other man for me than you. I knew it fifty years ago, I still know it now. From here on out, I just want to live the rest of our lives in peace and being able to do as much as we can while we can." Mo and I then get out of our chairs slowly at the same time and hobble over to one another, recreating our magical kiss on our wedding day. Though this kiss is much slower, it conveys an even deeper love between us. Fifty additional years of love and history together are infused into this kiss.

When we pull apart, I lean my forehead on hers. "I'll love you until my dying breath and even in my grave." Mo kisses me on the forehead. "When you die, I'll die soon after because you're the only person worth living for.."

 Ten years later...

Third Person  POV

Like Tui and Sina, Maui and Moana died close apart. Maui died first due to a mix of several medical condition complications and Moana died a month later due to old age and simply not wanting to go on without Maui. If that's not true love, then I don't know what is.

Hoped that you guys liked this fanfic as much as I enjoyed writing it! In my mind, I've felt as though it's been coming to an end for a week now. I wanted to end it differently than my other Moana fanfics, this time actually writing them in old age. Next up will be my Scarlet Vision one shots. I hope you guys continue to support me, even though I'm going to shift my focus to a different ship, at least for a little while. By the way, if you want to check out my new cover, it's attached below.  Until next time, this is goodbye. :) -Mary
