Chapter 76

Moana's POV

The next day...

  I'm so glad that I got to talk to Maui last night because it's my only motivation to get through my super long day. I get to have supper with Maui tonight. I can't wait to see him. It's only been two days but I've missed him so much. These past couple of days have dragged like you wouldn't believe. All of my classes are beginning to weigh me down. Lord give me the strength to survive this year. If I did it last year, hopefully I can do it again this year and the next two years after that. Oh and graduate school. Help me survive all of those please! 

After class...

  I get out of my second class and head over to my work study job to get in a nice long shift. I'm glad that I have the time to work an extra day this year. The more money, the better. Like I said before, I'm also able to get quite a bit of homework done because at least a quarter of my shift, which is an hour and a half is down time. That's a really good head start when you think about it. Deep breathes Mo. You got this! Just think about the nice dinner you're going to have tonight with your boyfriend who loves you very much and vice versa. You'll be fine. 

After work...

 I quickly head back to my dorm to change into a new outfit I bought last week at the mall but haven't worn yet. It's a navy blue romper with little pom poms on the top. With it, I applied on some light makeup, a few blue bangles, little gold earrings, and threw my hair up into a bun since it's still hot out. For shoes, I'm just wearing some basic sandals. My outfit is cute yet comfy. I hope Maui will like it. He should be here any minute now. 

Five minutes later...

  There's a knock at the door. Ariel wiggles her eyebrows at me and I playfully roll my eyes, mouthing "Shut up" to her. She giggles but is on her best behavior once I open to the door and am face to face with Maui." I take in the sight of him and my heart leaps out of my chest. "Maui you look incredible." He blushes immediately, pulling my body closer to his. "Well you my love look just as stunning as always. I'm glad you didn't overdo it on the makeup because you didn't even need it. Your natural beauty is my favorite." I blush myself. "Thank you Maui." Ariel and him exchange pleasantries before he extends his arm for me, which I gladly accept. Several people whistle as we walk back, causing us to blush even more. When we get to Maui's car, he helps me in his usual gentlemanly manner. "Where are we going for dinner Maui?" 

 Maui flashes me a grin. "Why to the fine establishment of the Olive Garden?" I gasp. "Maui, we just went there for dinner the other day. I thought we couldn't afford it." "I know but as long as we don't go too crazy, I can manage it. It's my treat." I shake my head no. "Maui, please allow me to split the bill with you. I don't want to financially cripple you right at the start of the year. We can't afford to burden ourselves right off the bat." Maui ruffles my hair playfully with one hand while keeping the other one on the wheel. "You're cute when you worry about me." I pout and he laughs at me, causing to burst into laughter after a couple of minutes myself. 

A little while later...

  We finally arrive to Olive Garden. The traffic was really bad tonight due to night time construction. All I know is that I'm freaking starving. I haven't eaten since breakfast this morning and all I had was a bagel and a couple of eggs. Sure I've had a couple of teas today but tea is a drink, not food. Tea doesn't solve my starvation, only my thirst. Maui and I thankfully get seated quickly and order our food with our drinks because that's how hungry we are. We get some breadsticks with angry alfredo dipping sauce and soup to hold us over until our main courses come. I don't care what I eat at this point. I'm just happy to have some food placed in front of me. Maui feels the same way because the two of us are practically fighting to the death over the breadsticks. 

Twenty minutes later...

  Maui and I have been too busy stuffing our faces to talk too much but now that our main courses are here and we have some food in our systems, we can take our time eating the rest and talking. "So princess, how's classes and work going for you so far?" I sigh. "They're tiring but that's to be expected. How are classes, work, and football going for you?" Maui laughs tiredly. "Same as you love. I can't wait until practices return to their normal schedule next week. I'm also nervous for our first big game in a few days time." I nod in agreement. "I know how you feel. I'm nervous about finding out whether or not I made the cut for the women's acapella group." "You're definitely going to make it Mo." A smile tugs at my lips. "And you're definitely going to win that first game. I'll be there cheering you on." He smiles lovingly at me. "I wouldn't have it any other way." 

  The rest of dinner goes as lovely as it usually does. Maui and I split the bill, which thankfully is only thirty dollars because we didn't have any drinks other than water and didn't opt for dessert, which costs almost as much as the meal itself. We get back in the car and drive back to campus, though we take our ever loving time. When we get close to campus, Maui pulls the car to a halt. I give him a look of confusion. "Maui, what are you doing?" He looks at me with both love and lust in his eyes as he crashes his lips onto mine. A quiet moan slips out as I kiss him back with an equal amount of passion. Maui and I haven't had any alone time in week and have hardly had the chance to talk, let alone kiss like this. Oh how I've missed this. In addition to kissing, Maui and I tenderly touch one another in various areas, but not in a sexual way. In a gently way that conveys our love for one another. What a great ending to today. I'm so glad I pushed through the past couple of days because it was worth it to get this as a reward for doing so.

  When we get back to campus, Maui walks me back to my room. We share one last hug and kiss before parting ways for the night. What a day, what a life. I love it so much!
