Christmas Day

Christmas Day 

Chapter 51

Maui's POV

 The next day... Christmas Day...

   We've spent the morning opening the rest of the presents. Mo absolutely spoiled me rotten. She got me nine more gifts in addition to the one I opened last night. Her parents even teamed up and bought me a gift too. I'm still in shock. This is by far the best Christmas I've ever had and it's not over yet. We're about to have our Christmas dinner, which is basically like thanksgiving dinner, the only difference being that we're having chicken in place of turkey. Chicken and turkey taste the same to me anyway so no fuss there. We all take turns grabbing a bit of everything to put onto our plate. We eat in blissful silence while enjoying the light Christmas music playing in the background. The food is amazing. There's almost nothing I love more than a good home cooked meal, while nothing/no one besides Mo of course. 

After eating...

 Mo's parents go in the living room to watch a Christmas movie while Mo and I decide to sit out on the back porch and relax. It's surprisingly warm for Christmas. It's fifty five degrees out. I consider that a heat wave in the winter. Though we have to wear warm pants and sweatshirts, we're not freezing our asses off which is nice. Mo has this awesome porch swing that I love to sit and swing on. The two of us look at each other at the same time, reading each others' minds. We make an immediate break for the porch swing. The impact causes the porch swing to nearly break off its hinges. I chuckle. "I guess I'm too strong for my own good." Mo giggles adorably. "Yeah that you are. As long as we don't swing too roughly, I'm sure it'll be fine." I nod and careful swing the two of us lightly. 

  "Mo, I just wanted to thank you. This has been the best Christmas of my life. I'll never forget it." Mo leans her head on my shoulder. "I'm glad you're having a good Christmas Maui. It means a lot to me that I can play a role in making it good. By the way, you're able to stay through New Year's. After that, I was thinking you and I could go away for a few days before classes start back up." I raise an eyebrow at her. "Are you trying to seduce me?" Mo's jaw drops and she blushes like crazy. "N-No, I'm doing n-no such thing." I smirk at her. "Well if you were, I wouldn't object to it. I'd just want to be sure I have your consent before returning the favor." "Maui, I love you, but I'm not ready for sex anytime soon." The comedic demeanor shifts into a more serious one. I cup her face gently so that she's looking me in the eyes and can clearly absorb my words. "Mo, I'm not ready to have sex either. I may make stupid jokes about seduction, but I'm no where near ready to do it with you yet either. You don't have to ever worry about me pressuring you into doing so because I feel the exact same way you do." 

   Mo pulls me in for a gentle kiss. "Maui, you're the best. Nothing's complicated with you. I'm also very lucky that you're the wonderful guy you are. I love you." I pull her in for a gentle hug. "I love you too princess and you're welcome." A moment of silence passes before I break it. "So Mo, tell me more about this little getaway. What did you have in mind?" "Well, I thinking that you and I could rent a cabin up in the mountains for a few days. I did some research online of this cabin community of sorts that has cabin rentals equipped with wifi, appliances, a plasma screen TV, quality furniture, and even a hot tub. We could go skiing, hiking, etc. What do you think?" I take a moment to think about it and find myself thinking that it's absolutely perfect. "Mo, that sounds perfect. I can't wait! I'll make the reservations tomorrow and we can split the costs. Does the sound good?" She nods with a grin on her face. "Sounds good Maui. I can't wait!" "Me either princess." 

  Mo and I spend the rest of the evening planning out everything we want to do on the getaway trip, including but not limited to the food we should, how high up the mountains we should hike, the gear we need to bring for hiking and skiing, and what swimwear to bring. That's mainly a debate for Mo. You know how girls can be. It's like should I wear the one piece that doesn't show too much or the bikini that makes me feel sexy and will make my boyfriend drool? The sun has already set long ago but it's getting really cold now so Mo and I should probably head inside. "Mo baby, let's head inside. The cold is starting to get to me now and I can tell it's getting to you too. You're shaking like a leaf." She nods and comes closer to me. I wrap an arm around her and lead us back inside.

    We head up to Mo's room, leaving the door open, and Skype Jack and Ariel for a bit on a group call. Jack's spending the week with his cousin Peter Pan and Ariel's spending two weeks with her entire family all under one roof. The poor girl looks like she's on the verge of an anxiety attack. Spending a lot of time with family isn't always a good thing. It can actually be quite stressful at times. Jack promised her that he'd visit her next week and take her out to give a break for a day. That's good. I'm glad the two of them have each other. I see a lot of Mo and I's love between the two of them. They're good together. I hope stay together for a long time, just like I hope Mo and I will because the truth is I love her too much to ever go back to just being friends.
