Recap:
"I'm so sorry," she apologizes, making me look at her.
"For what?" I ask. She hasn't directly been a jerk to me.
"Miles. He's just always such a dick to you, and I'm sorry. You don't deserve that," she sighs sympathetically.
"After a year you get used to it," I shrug, not caring much about the matter anymore.
"It's not fair towards you. You haven't done anything to him," she defends her point. Suddenly, there is another loud crash in the janitor's closet.
"I personally feel bad for you. You need to date him," I joke, making her smile. My hand grasps the doorknob, my wrist slowly rotating to open the door. Right as I open the door, a scream is heard.
---
And that scream is mine. In the closet, there are two nests, a nest of bees and a nest of hornets. Both nests fell, and now the bees and wasps are attacking each other. I scream louder than I ever have before right before I slam the door.
"What was that?" she asks nervously, as if she's scared of something. If anything, I'm terrified. I despise bees.
"A ton of bees and wasps were fighting each other," I tell her, and she looks releaved yet stressed at the same time.
"What the hell was that?" the voice of the person I hate the most asks. I turn to see Miles walking towards us with Sara trailing behind. Miles fixes the bandana on his head while adjusting his shirt.
"There was a closet full of bees and wasps fighting each other," Amelia answers for me. Miles looks her up and down before locking their lips. Sara stands behind him, looking in pain.
"That's cool babe," he softly bites her earlobe, making me gag and turn around.
"Why were you out of class with Sara?" Amelia interrogates softly, giving him the puppy eyes.
"We were bringing something up to the office. Why were you out with that thing?" Miles spits towards me, making me roll my eyes.
"Our teacher wanted us to see what the noise in the closet was," I tell him, making Sara glare at me.
"He didn't ask you," she tells me sassily, trying too hard to jut out her hip.
"Do you really think I care?" I ask her, tilting my head slightly.
"It sucks that you're such an ass. You're actually really hot," she tells me, biting her tongue.
"Thank you?" I say like a question.
"No one in their group is hot especially not him," Miles comes in, snapping at her.
"At least I don't look like a wannabe Harry Styles," I defend myself, and Amelia lightly laughs.
"Stop babe," Miles tells Amelia when he sees she's laughing.
"Aww. I didn't know we were on a nickname basis," I joke, placing a hand over my heart.
"You little...,"Miles starts to approach me, rolling up his sleeves. Amelia holds him back.
"Miles stop," Amelia tries to convince him, making him scoff.
"I'll stop once you aren't flat chested... so never," he spits, making my jaw drop. Right after he says that, some random teacher appears.
"Which of you four screamed?" the teacher asks, scanning over all of us.
"It was me," I admit. Going to the office would be better than anywhere with Miles.
"You're coming with me," they tell me, grabbing my wrist and pulling me along with them into the office. They open the door and throw me into the principal's office. Already sitting there are Brady, Sergio, Drew, and Chance.
"Isn't this fitting?" Ms. Brown smirks, looking over the five of us. Sergio and Chance are obviously trying to sit as far away as possible from Brady and Drew.
"Not you too Michael," Drew frowns, making Chance scoff.
"I shouldn't even be up here! Someone just had to come up and start getting mad at me that I had a girlfriend. He deserved to get punched for insulting Alex," Chance frowns, making Sergio nod.
"Well it's not my fault a complete imbessile decided to make fun of one of my best friends in the middle of class, and I had to defend him," Brady glares at Sergio.
"What about you Mr. Smith?" Ms. Brown asks.
"I screamed because I opened a closet full of bees and wasps that we're fighting. I had the right to scream," I defend myself, making her smile.
"That's great boys. This is actually great that all five of you are up here at one time," she beams , confusing us.
"What do you mean?" Drew asks.
"Well, there is a competition coming up, and I needed five young boys for it," she smiles.
"I have to deal with Chance? No thanks," Drew says automatically, shutting down the idea.
"Well you don't have a choice. It's either this or you get kicked out of academic league," she smirks, and Drew frowns.
"I'm out," Chance says quickly.
"And you'll be kicked out if football," she tells him quickly, making him sit down once again.
"What do you need us for?" Brady asks, getting to the point.
"Well, the funding for the school isn't good. We can barely afford to keep it running. That's why I was extatic when I found this. It's a competition, a battle of the bands. There are several round, and the winner gets $100,000 for their school," she claps.
"But I don't sing," I tell her, making her shrug.
"But you're a rapper, and I know you all can sing. I've heard you all. It's funny how much knowledge I have by walking around through classes," she laughs.
"I'm sorry, but I can't work together with Chance," Drew pleads, but she shrugs.
"You guys can make it work. We'll have a vocal coach work with you guys next week," she tells us.
"What if we don't show up?" Sergio asks.
"Then you'll get kicked off if your sports team, simple as that."
