Chapter 20

DOMINIC

They left me again.

I looked at our old house. I'm just here outside. I brought them back to the company.

"I-uuwi mo na kami Dominic. Bago pa tuluyang mawala lahat sayo."

That's scared me, so I decided to bring them back.

I smiled bitterly. Alam kong malaki ang nagawa kong kasalanan kay Elisa. She is mad at me. And how she avoided me as if I had a contagious disease? It damn hurts.

Since they left me, half of my life was lost.

"Ano na friend?! Nasaan na sila?!"

It's Alex.

"They went home."

"Huh?! Bakit?! Sayang naman 'yong hinanda natin!"

Alex became my friend after my wife and son left me. It's funny to think that, before, I was annoyed at him. But here he is, helping me.

Flashback

It's been 2 weeks after they left.

And now it's my son's birthday. No celebration will take place. For what?
They're not here.

I sat quietly at one corner. There is no light in the whole house. Mess. It's no longer alive.

Happy birthday, baby.

More than a week ago, my father beat me, and I got a slap from my mother.

Malugod ko 'yong tinanggap mula sa kanila. It's my fault, so I deserved it.

I've been in my office for less than a week. I also avoided Leslie. But I can't deny that I used her. To hurt my wife.

I looked up and leaned on the cold wall.

"Anong nangyari Dominic? B-bakit bigla kang nagbago at bumalik sa dati? Bakit? Kasi bumalik siya? Ganoon ba? Akala ko ba, okay na? Akala ko ba, masaya na tayo? Bakit Dominic? A-ano bang nagawa ko? Naging mabuti lang naman akong asawa at nagmamahal sa'yo ah? H-hindi pa ba sapat? Dominic, asawa mo 'ko! Kasal tayo! May anak na tayo-"

"At sana hindi na lang 'yon nangyari! It's your fault, Elisa! Not mine! Kung pinigilan mo lang kasi ako noon o 'yang sarili mo bago may mangyari sa'tin, eh 'di sana-"

"Sana ano? Wala si Eric? 'Yon ba?" I stopped.

"Kung ayaw mong ibigay sa'kin ang address niya, then I'll make my own way to find her." Sabi ko.

Umiling siya at pinigilan ako.

"Dominic paki-usap, 'wag naman..." Hinawakan niya ang kamay ko.

"Dominic asawa mo 'ko..." Sabi niya.

Yes, you're my wife.

And I'm sorry.

"Tao po!" I've heard a continuous knock.

"Tao po! Is anybody there? Tao po!"

Wait? That voice sounds familiar.

I stood up and opened the door. And I was surprised to find out who was in front of me.

What does this gay man doing here?

"Oh my god, papa Dom! Wait," He looked at me from head to toe.

"Anyare?!"

I wrinkled my forehead.
