ELISA

This is so awkward. Dominic is giving me shivers the way he stares at me right now.

"Daddy, you're not listening to me po." Napalingon ako sa kanilang dalawa ng magsalita si Eric.

We are here in the kitchen while preparing our breakfast.

"Oh, sorry baby, what is it again?" I shook my head. I pay my attention to what I was doing.

"I went to your room last night po because I want to sleep with you but you were not in your room po. Where'd you go last night daddy?" I was stunned at what I was doing as I waited for Dominic to answer.

Don't you dare, Dominic!

"Baby, your pancake is done!" I did not wait for him to answer, so I immediately put the pancake on the table.

"Wow, mama!" Eric quickly grabbed the pancake that I made.

Napangiti na lang ako sa inasal ng anak ko. Ewan ko ba, pero kahit simpleng luto ko, special na special para sa kanya.

"Where's mine?" Si Dominic.

Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay.

"What?"

Nakakainis! Talaga bang gusto niya ng pancake or nang-aasar siya? Kanina pa kasi siya!

"Kailan ka pa nahilig sa pancakes?" I added as I sit beside my son.

"Hmmm, last night? Because I've licked very a soft lips—"

"DOMINIC." I cut him off and gave him a warning look. "Okay, fine! Gagawan na kita ng pancake." I immediately stood up in a panic while my son, Eric is looking at me, as if asking what is going on.

"You're avoiding me ever since in the morning. Do we have a problem?" Dominic asked me while I was in the living room and busy with my laptop.

"None." My answer was straight as I focused on my laptop.

I see that part of his forehead creased in my answer.

"Nothing? Or because ..." Suddenly, my heartbeat inflated as he slumped beside me. I lost my focus on what I am doing. "You're avoiding me because of what happened last night? Am I right?" I stopped on what I am doing and think of an answer to say.

Yeah, he's damn right. Nagkaka-ganito ako dahil sa kanya. And I hate this feeling!

Isinara ko ang laptop ko at nilingon siya.

"Dominic, don't go ahead of yourself. I was avoiding you because I want to concentrate on my business." Confident ko pang sagot.

He just nodded and seemed unconvinced about my answer.

"Oh, alright. As you said." I almost dropped from the seat when he touches my hand.

"Why ... you're holding me?" I just look at him while he's holding my hand.

He's so warm!

"Let's go out?"

"What?"

"Let's have a date."

Date?

I took my hand off him.

"We aren't teens anymore, Dominic."

"Baby... I know. But I want to take you out for dinner."

I take a deep breath before I look at him again. I can see in his face that he is really desperate to take me out. To be honest, dating is not new to me. Marco and I are often used to go outside or take a stroll when every time he sees me stressed.

"Elisa... will you go out... with me?" I want to laugh at him right now. He's really nervous.

"Where we're going? Halos lahat na yata ng restaurants dito sa Geneva napuntahan na namin. Wala ng bago sa'kin." Sagot ko pa.

His aura became so dark. And I know the reason for his sudden change of mood.

I ruined it good, eh?

"Then let's go somewhere else. Yung HINDI niyo pa napupuntahan."

I want to laugh. His eagerness to take me out is too obvious.

Dapat na ba 'kong matuwa?

"Are you really sure about this, Dominic?" He nodded.

Hanggang sa naka-isip na naman ako ng isasagot sa kanya. And for sure, it will hurt.

"Okay..." I leaned on the couch. "I just remembered... How much you despise me. How you don't want to see my face when every time you eat. You even threw me out." He was silent. Kita ko pati ang paglunok niya at bahagyang pagyuko.

Guilty?

Ilang seggundo bago siya ulit nag-angat ng tingin sa'kin.

"I'm sorry... I know I was harsh on you at that time. I'm sorry. I'm very—"

"Paano kung sabihin ko sayo na ayaw kitang kasabay kumain?" He stopped. Habang ako ay malamig na nakatitig sa kanya. Gusto kong maramdaman niya kung gaano kasakit na pagtabuyan na parang asong kalye.

"Baby.."

"Ano? Paano kung ayoko?"

Lumapit siya sa'kin.

"Please, let me... I want to be with you—"

"Just answer me."

"It hurts..."

Mapakla akong ngumiti.

"Ganyan na ganyan ang naramdaman ko noon, Dominic. And I want you to feel the same way. Para fair." I said with irony. Ilang saglit pa ay tumayo na 'ko at tiningnan siya na parang siya ang pinaka-kawawang tao sa buong mundo.

Nanatili lang siyang nakayuko.

Paawa!

Napa-irap na lang ako sa itsura niya. Nakakaawa siya tingnan and at the same time, nakakatawa. Hindi kasi ako sanay na makita siyang mukhang tanga.

"Get up, Dominic."

Tumingin naman siya sakin at tumayo.

"I'll just change my clothes. Within 10 minutes you must be ready." I said.

"You mean..."

"Yes. Pumapayag na 'ko sa date na gusto mo."

"Damn it—Thank you!" Akmang yayakapin niya 'ko pero umatras ako.

"H—Hindi pa 'ko naliligo." Sabi ko na lang.

"I don't mind baby."

I rolled my eyes.

Dali-dali naman siyang umakyat sa kuwarto para sundin ang sinabi ko.

Napa-iling na lang ako.

Mukhang tanga talaga.

HI, HELLO! KILALA NIYO PA BA KO? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! 🤣 (Just Kidding) First of all, gusto kong humingi ng SORRY dahil sobrang tagal bago ako nakapag-update. Alam kong marami ng inis dahil sa tagal. I'll be honest with you guys. Balak ko na sanang burahin lahat ng stories ko coz bigla na lang akong nawalan ng gana magsulat :( I don't know. Pero bigla ko na lang napansin sa sarili ko na parang hindi ko na feel magsulat. God knows, kung ilang beses akong nagta-try na makapag-update kahit man lang isang chapter. But I can't even type a single word. And ending, buburahin ko din hanggang sa blanko na naman. I'm so frustrated coz alam kong maraming naghihintay sa istoryang ito. That's why I decided to stop muna. Until nagkaroon ako ng business (online selling) mas nakalimutan ko lalo. Sorry guys! 😞 But now, bumabalik na ang motivation ko. Thank you sa mga nagme-message sakin for pushing me to continue this! :) Na-realize ko na kaya ko. Thank you! And yes, I'm totally back and will upade ASAP. Wait lang ng konti coz kababalik ko lang sa school 🤣 Pero promise, makakapag-update na ko ulit. Wag lang po ako madaliin hahahaha! Salamat sa mga nagbabasa pa din nito :)
